Took my Tesla Model 3 performance to the track a few weeks ago, was super fun. Its the Formula 1 track in Austin - COTA. Plan to do it again in a few months, need to buy a bunch of upgrades now and learn more. It was way more physically draining than I thought and way more technical.

Any of y'all do track days in your cars?

Here's some pictures, was going to do double zero 00 for Scoot but just did one. I'm sure nobody there knew about Scoot or the Blazers though lol;

Probably not a lot of cars on the track that have also driven for 8 hours in this;

Cars have a small arrow on the dashboard telling drivers which side of the car the gas tank is on. That’s the Moylan Arrow, named after Ford engineer Jim Moylan, who died last month at 80. He pitched his idea in 4/86. In 11/86 he was told it was great, and the first Arrow appeared in model year 1989. 2.5 years from idea to implementation

Funny I sold the car 2 months after posting that, got a model Y which is more functional with the kids and was able to transfer FSD from an old totaled Tesla to the Y for free.

Our 2nd vehicle now is a Rivian R1S quad motor, thing is actually just as fast as the 3Performance 0-60 at around 3.2s. But the Rivian weights over 7000lbs. Obviously doesn't corner great. It's bizarre feeling smoking Ferraris at a stoplight with such a huge honking vehicle.

Funny enough Rivian gave me the 90k vehicle for free at first.

Initially we got a loan for the vehicle, my bank paid Rivian, but Rivian failed to deliver it as scheduled before we left on a multi month Europe trip. They just randomly refunded the money by check and left it on our porch. Luckily neighbor got the check and let me know and I had him fedex it to me in Europe.

Well after the trip I go to get the R1S finally and we can get the next model year - but when I ask to wire the money Rivian insists it's paid. I had 90k in the bank still earning interest but figured maybe they got cash again from the bank and I'd need to eventually pay the bank back that 90k.

Well Rivian gives me the vehicle and insists it's still paid. So we drive around for a month with the new R1S. I don't see the bank paid Rivian besides that one time. I'm starting to wonder if Rivian will issue the title to me or the bank and if so can I legally just keep it for free? I wasn't trying to steal it but if they insist I don't need to pay for it I guess I maybe go forward with that? Wasn't really sure what to do.

Then one day I get a frantic call from Rivian sales guy that the car wasn't paid. I tell them yeah that's what I initially said. So got them to give me a $1k refund for wasting my time and then I wired them the $90k.

But kind of nuts they delivered vehicle to me unpaid. I'd imagine a lot of people would have used the cash on hookers, blow, or who knows what.
