<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Most of the things Carter was accused of back in Toronto he has worked on and has fixed completely.
1)
Carter fakes injuries and is a soft player physically: Carter has been incredible while on NJ. He missed 9 games in 4 years.
2)
Carter shies away from clutch situations: Absolutely false. Carter may have taken more clutch shots within the last 3 years than anyone in the league. No, he did not make most of them, and most people don't. You can't blame Carter if his coach designs a play that calls for an ISO at the end of the game.
3)
Carter is selfish: he has been a role model off the court. From watching summer league games, to having dinners with teammates, to taking a pretty big pay cut to help NJ.
His main "problems" are thus:
1)
He's genuinely too nice: it makes him a poor player in some situation, but it also makes him a better human being.
2) He complains. A lot: one of his worst flaws is that sometimes he acts up like a little girl. If only he worked on this one.
3)
He doesn't play as hard, and doesn't slash as hard as he can: While I agree it's very annoying to watch this sometimes, I can understand. He's in his 30s, and has been a big time jumper for 2 decades now. No matter what he shows, his knees have a lot of miles on them, and because he jumps higher than usual in regular situations, the impact is much greater as well. If I was in his place I would not want to risk having severe leg problems for the next 40 years of my life either.
If people stopped seeing him as what he could be they would gain a much greater appreciation of what he actually is instead of what he isn't.</div>
Every NBA player does that, even Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Paul Peirce. There are very few exceptions...although one that does come to mind is KG
