Carter, speaking at the practice facility yesterday, also admits he can understand why Celtics Nation is giddy over the possibilities, now that Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce form arguably the best trio in the game.</p>

Should be an interesting year with the Celtics. I feel head to head, Kidd gives us the nod at the point guard spot. You throw a Magloire and Krstic at KG it helps us matchup. I think Toronto is a stronger competitor with the additon of Kapono.</p>

They overpaid for Kapono but its a good addition. I see the Raptors winning the division, Celtics 2nd and Nets 3rd. All 3 make the playoffs.</p>

Read Sussman blog. He says Carter walked out on the court and the first thing he did was take a 55-foot jump shot, which he made.</p>

No way the Raps repeat, IMO. I think Carter pretty much summed it up, its down to the C's and Nets.</p>

Although neither team is quite that caliber, this almost reminds you of Celtics-Sixers rivalry of the early 80's. In fact, the division overall sort of resembles the 80's Atlantic Division: 5 teams overall, 2 team race for the division title(Celtics-Sixers/Celtics-Nets), a 3rd team close behind(Knicks/Raptors), and the other two are young potential spoilers(Nets&Bullets/Sixers&Knicks).</p>

Hey now, Kidd's coming into camp in basketball shape for the first time in, uhh, ever? If there's anyone to blame for the consistent slow starts, I think it's Kidd, who tends to go out there with the Shaq mindset of saving himself for the playoffs. Kidd generally only plays his best when a) the games matter or

he's trying to make Byron Scott look like an idiot by reeling off a 13 game winning streak.</p>

Anyway, he played really hard all summer - maybe it'll carry over into a strong start for the Nets.</p>
