<div class="quote_poster">The Legend Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets franchise is going to be killed. Rod Thorn needs to get it through his head that there is going to be a deep draft this year and it is perfect for him to put the franchise back into a contendor through rebuilding. I'd say dangle Carter on draft day, even though i find him despisable and unworthy of any of the prospects, alot of teams might be interested in him.</div>
Yeah, Rod Thorn is the only guy to realize that there are good prospects in this draft. Come on man, you really think teams are gonna trade a valuable prospect for Carter? Any lottery team? Really? Look at all the lottery teams and list 1 that will want a near 30 SG that fades in the playoffs? Be serious. In my opinion, if we can't get a top 10 pick for Carter, then there is no point in trading him.
You got to be realistic. Four years and he's 32/33 at the end of the contract is not "killing the franchise." Not at all. If it was a 7 year contract like before the new CBA, I would agree with you, but he'll still be able to play at that age at a moderate level. Carter has been the most durable (shocker to most) player in his time here. He hasn't missed games like RJ and Kidd, and despite disappointing play, he's a good locker room guy and isn't a malcontent.
