There can be no compensation given to a team in return for their submitting or not submitting an offer sheet, or for matching or not matching an offer to a restricted free agent. For example, Houston could not sign Golden State's restricted free agent to an offer sheet, then send Golden State a draft pick in exchange for their not matching the offer.
 
sounds like NO is on the troll again
it must be nice knowing you can pay just about anybody in the league and just putting down troll offers to make a team scramble
 
Hmm...is that worth it? I mean, it's 4 years in the future, and who knows if the Lakers will still be terrible at that point.

I was thinking the same when I posted it. It does not exactly excite me. Maybe Neil views "any" 2nd round pick as an asset for future trades, and since we are short on 2nd rounds picks.....it might be worth it.
