They aren't giving me much confidence after their dreadful spells last year.

...I'll wait for the reg season to start...I don't take ST games seriously...I know CC is experimenting with a splitter...Kuroda, meh.

Yep, one can't take ST games to seriously, tho' I admit Kuroda looked pitiful today. Is his age showing? Honestly, I don't expect Kuroda to have the year he had last year.

As a coach in youth BB, I used to tell other coaches, and/or players: "If I am winning ST or exhibition games, then I am doing something wrong". ST games at youth levels are to determine the proper position for each player. It takes every exhibition game to determine such. Plus, I already knew who my Pitchers were, and gave them more than their share of workouts, pitching batting practice. 3 years undefeated, we were doing something right, not bragging, just the fact's.

Keep in mind, everything about youth baseball, is backwards of the Pro's.

Kuroda - whatever.....I think he'll come around and do a creditable job for the Yanks...if not, so be it- we'll take a good long look at one of the younger pitchers...Nuno, Warren, Banuelos, Phelps, Pineda.
Looks like the Yanks WILL need very good seasons from Tanaka and Nova -
-not major news.

CC needs to adjust to the weigh loss. Kuroda should be fine. If Pineda and Phelps stay hot, what a nice luxury to have.

last two years my son's team got to the championship game ...two years ago we had one loss and had beaten the other team 3 times during the regular season only to lose the one game championship to them..

last year we had the lead going into the last inning, my son hit home the go ahead runs and lost with two outs on a walk off error.
felt so bad for my son, he was catching, the other team had bases loaded and a ground ball to the SS and for some reason he threw home instead of to first, throw was wide, my son trying to keep his foot on the plate reached and it hit off his glove, tying and winning run scored.

good thing our football team won its championship game this past season...yeah im bragging lol

pitches are getting themselves in game shape way too soon, all will b ok.

I never thought this staff was worthy of the praise it was getting (with the Tanaka exception...)

...like I said earlier, this staff has no "ace" at this point. But overall, I think the back end will be better than last year's. We have a staff of several #3s, which really ain't bad. And if the offense improves as much as I think they will, I can see another 10 wins or so over last year.

The starting pitchers will have their ups and downs. CC and Kuroda
are on the downside in their careers. No great expectations for
this Yankee staff. If they do well, all the better for the team.
