...I did notice Tex was at least trying to go with the pitch and go the other instead of typically and stubbornly trying to pull the outside pitch. He hit 2 balls to LF yesterday while batting LHed.
...yes, that is the title of the thread. It was about how so far this Spring both pretty much looked the same as they did last year.
...and sorry, but these comments of yours in this thread have nothing to do with the topic and are nothing more than fanning the flames of your same tired act and topic...which is by definition trolling;
>>>"it'll look even better if Shane Greene doesn't turn into a top flight pitcher.
Sorry ' bout that....but I just felt this needed to be said since Cashman and the TEAM has already been written off as a failure."
>>>"I think this board has evolved into a bunch of vintage George Steinbrenners."
>>>"You would think the above would've been more accepted in its proper perspective, lol"
...yeah, and McCann has not yet done as promised a month or so ago, by going the other way.
Excuse my curiosity but, what does McCann have to do with "CC and Tex"?

..."Looks like the normal progression of the TOPIC"....???...uhhh, why did you omit the part in that same post of yours where you also said, "You wo see ßuld think the above would've been more accepted in its proper perspective, lol" ???...any special reason why you left that part out?...you can just stop the the "who, me?, I'm innocent routine.
This was the part I "left out":
...but of course he needs to stay healthy AND he's going to need (naturally)more than one ST (2 IP) start to improve his command after missinglast season with the injury.
You would think the above would've been more accepted in its proper perspective, lol
Good post bern baby. ( #16 )
I "left it out" because it was a personal opinion which I anticipated would've been attacked and I WAS trying to avoid it while I was in agreement with "bern baby's" assessment of CC's overall performance velocity wise.
I began that post with what you said in the very first post and then followed up bern baby's response. The crux of that post was been baby and I kinda agreeing that CC wasn't SO BAD considering it was his first start in nearly a year coming off knee surgery and he reaching 90-92 mph on his fastball was (in our opinion) was a good sign.
Remember last year when he was getting banged around, his fastball was mainly in the high 80s.
Honestly '59, I was both surprised and dissapointed when you didn't cut CC any slack considering the surgery and nearly a year layoff.
I did NOT personally attack or disagree with your #1 post of the thread.
Okay?
I'll try and go lightly on any differing opinions I may have and try and stay as much "on topic" as most others.
Have I NOT taken any personal shots from others?
It's all good, it's BASEBALL, everything is A-Okay.
There's no slack to cut CC. The knee is degenerative...why? Part genetic and part lifestyle. And so that's the subtraction of one quality arm and we have a big gimp and Crapuano as his back up.
...location, location, location.
...CC has not been "getting banged around" only because of his velocity, though it didn't help because it also makes his change up less effective too. His problems are due more to the fact that he keeps leaving pitches over the plate and up...and he did again in his last start.
...his FB also does not have the movement it once had...and a 92 mph FB with no movement is no challenge for MLB hitters if it's left over the plate. Hell, even most minor league hitters destroy pitches like that.
...no matter what his velo is, if CC is to be successful, his misses need to be down in the zone and/or off the plate.
I still think when it comes to lively 2 seam fastballs with movement. Doc-K's was pretty damned good, shades of Bob Gibson's, even Koufax's....
I just can't see Sabathia going forward, is it just me? What are your thoughts, will CC even be a #4 SP. If so, I wonder how long he can keep his status spot. If he does start, I also doubt he will have the stamina to continue beyond the AS break. Sad to see and say, and I'd love to be proven wrong.....!
I believe in his last full season (2013) he averaged just over 6 inning a start & sadly I just don't see that changing. If he finishes with over 30 starts & 190+ innings I'd be surprised.
...I know Tanaka is vital for success this year, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Tex and CC are the wild cards this year".
