Is this a big blow for you guys, or is he more of the 4/5 starter right now?
 
I don't get it. The guy sucks all season. Comes back from the dl with new brace and is our best pitcher pitching to a 2.17 era in those 5 starts. Now that the playoffs are here he decides to go to rehab?? He couldn't have waited till the yanks were eliminated first? Just don't get the timing. Can't wait to hear what forced this at this time.

Obviously got "busted".
May help explain and fill in some blanks.
I blame Cashman....after all - he was the one pouring booze down CC's throat.


Isn't than right? Rick? '59?
 
Hopefully for him and his family he gets his life in order.

Yessir.....all the money in world won't save you from demons in your head and monsters under your bed.

I like CC....certainly was a terrific pitcher who did help the Yanks win their LAST WS and even more so because he's a tough competitor with BALLS!

As the old adage says, "What have you done for me lately?"

Last 3 years = Won 23, lost 27 with a 4.93 ERA all while averaging only 6 1/3rd innings per start.
 
His performance good or bad really isn't important. He's a human being with a problem who feels that he needs help. Hopefully, he gets the help he needs and his life becomes better for it.
 
Vic I agree but I can't help but think this is not something that just happened, considering the way his career took a sharp turn over the last 3 years I think this has been an ongoing problem.

You never know. It could be associated to his downturn in performance or it could be something he has been dealing with for a while.

No, not a big blow.
Yanks need to win Tuesday and hopefully pound Johnny Cueto and the rest of KC's less than great SP and get back to Yankee Stadium at least tied 1-1 in series.

Vic I was only half kidding when I said he can't help himself, but seriously, I don't know anymore. He just can't respond to any post without sounding like a 10 year old.

Back to C.C. I really hope he gets the help he needs because seeing it first hand growing up I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
 
CC and his last start, i was like WTF happened to him, he looked like he swallowed a keg... sad story man, now we have a pretty good idea why girardi has looked so hurt.... he knew it!

1 question, drug testing?

I'd have to take that sentiment as well. Saw some documentary on CC a couple of years back, his wife seems to be a real genuine sweetheart and they doo give back. I wish him the very best whipping that demon.

Me too Rick with my ex-husband. Didn't realize it until after I was married. It's really sad, as a person who enjoys a couple of glasses of wine once in a while. You just can't have the temptation in the house and I am sure the reason it came out now is that his wife Amber threatened him as I did. Mine wouldn't get help so I divorced him.

Was thinking this as I read the thread. His wife probably said don't come home until you're sober. Hope he gets the help he needs.

What I can't figure is when did they start putting tequila shots as prizes in boxes of Cap'n Crunch?
