My son and I both loved the LG line of phones--I was disappointed when they decided to exit the market. My son is still convinced that his 2+-year-old LG V60 is better than pretty much any other phone out there.Samsung should have just built on Ubuntu Linux. Then make great Linux apps and an app store to round it out. All they want to do is sell the hardware.
Give people options and make great hardware and you'll win IMO.
Nokia should have done the same and they'd be dominant IMO. Their OS sucked.
There is no secure OS. Ask Jamal Khashoggi's wife about that.iOS has long been considered the most secure operating system among cell phones. That is important to me.
I do the same. Social media, utilities, sports apps, school apps, etc.I will say that I personally just create folders to classify my apps, rather than have them all out individually. I understand that alphabetizing is optimal for you, but if it turns out that isn't an option, folders may be your next best bet.
I loved my Nokia 920 and 1020, but app support was lousy.Microsoft windows phone was actually pretty good, too bad that didn't last for some more options

Problem was they spent too much on Nokia, and being that late, didn't have apps and couldn't afford to wait to take market share organically.Microsoft windows phone was actually pretty good, too bad that didn't last for some more options
I had Nokia and Motorola hard wired car phones for a number of years.Problem was they spent too much on Nokia, and being that late, didn't have apps and couldn't afford to wait to take market share organically.

There are no three dots.
There is no app drawer.
It is looking like I have to go back to store and hope to find halfway intelligent person there. Sigh. Thanks anyway.

The only hope for a secure OS would be an open source OS and applications with end to end encryption on everything.
Don't want people seeing your porn choices eh?
Only because android allows more freedom to install 3rd party apps. There are routinely exploits that allow bad actors full control of your iPhone. It may not be perfectly secure, but iPhones are more secure than Androids.
This is not difficult to do with Android. This is a problem with a specific phone which has broken Android. Not to be an apple-fanboi, but it's funny that this thread about how a very simple task seems to be difficult to do with android is filled with apple-bashing.

Good point, however, another manufacturer wouldn't be making an iPhone, since it's a closed ecosystem. If it were an iPhone, it wouldn't have 'broken Android', as that not allowed. There are benefits as well as negatives to a closed ecosystem.

I looked up model and googled. Got info on rearranging home screen but not icons. Crap.
I got a Pixel 6 Pro last year and I love it!
No. Doesn't work. They pop back to where they were.
Not sure which kind you have. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21--full app list is accessed by swiping up from the bottom from the home screen. From there, there are three dots next to the search box, in which the sort apps function is located.
which phone do you have?
I wouldn't brag about it. When I bought a Pixel 3 I bragged about it. Some day some ass hole is going to brag about his/her Pixel 9 and won't you feel silly.I got a Pixel 6 Pro last year and I love it!
Phone is Alcatel. Brand x
Swiping up shows all apps and search box but no three dots.
Believe me, I tried all the obvious.
Good luck! Hopefully they offer to let you trade it in. Most places will let you trade it in for a couple weeks if you don't like it...I got the phone 2 weeks ago!
Anyway, going back to the store to see if I can get the problem solved.
