CELTICS @ BLAZERS GAME THREAD - 2.24.2013, Sunday 6:00 PM - KGW

What's with all these euros coming in and frustrating teams? Do they have some school on "how to be a pest in the nba" or something?
American players are confused when they see good fundamentals. Most probably can't pronounce it, let alone spell it.

I know the tankers didn't want to see it, but what a great win for the Blazers. Love when there is a buzz in the RG and last night, if only for one night, the game and the RG had that electric atmosphere. Fun to battle with the Celtic fans too . . .

Agreed. I cannot remember another game that had so many of the other teams fans there. Glad they went home disappointed.

To follow up on JFizzleRaider's post earlier, I agree that I do not want to see this team in rebuild mode for the next decade. We have a nice core in DL, LA, Nic and Wesley. We now just need to solve our starting center problem, land a serviceable player with our draft pick this year, and build a bench. Only one team out of thirty is going to win it all. Without a Lebron type player, we have to just hope for them to have an off year and be in contention when it happens.

If Claver is a 4, why did Stotts start him when Wes was out?

Because Stotts is an idiot? (Not my answer - speaking possibly for others)

I think Claver is a SF. He played SF in the Euro/Spanish Leagues. He can play SG or PF in a pinch though.

He is a SF, but in todays NBA SF's and PF's have become somewhat interchangable

Claver has handles. He's a point forward. Learn the game.

I just finished watching the recording, Victor was impressive. If he gets to be a better finisher look out.

I liked Maynor's impact. He was cool and obviously knows how to run the pick and roll. It was nice to not have the Nolan Smith sub panic attack.

Noone should ever say anything bad again about Wessy. Ever.

Boston team D was focused on Lillard and did a great job against him.

LMA was pretty effective despite all the fadeaways. If Fez keeps raggin' on him I'm going to start "THE OFFICAL PM YOUR ODEN PENIS PICS TO FEZ HAMMERSTICKS THREAD". I'm still pissed at him for replacing the sideview hot chick avatar with Robert De Niro.

End of transmission.

Great to see Claver getting more burn.
He's got amazing mobility for a guy his size - and that makes him quite versatile.
Hopefully he 'loosens up' a bit and finds his stroke with some more extended minutes.

As evidenced by LMA, SGs are the new PFs.

Pretty much. Although, on average, SG's attack the rim at a MUCH higher rate than LMA.

Looking at bigs who are comparable in terms of settling for a mid-range or long-range jumper rather than attacking the rim -- Andrea Bargnani.

Shut up Fez. That turnaround shot is his "skyhook." A go to move in the clutch that he made at the buzzer to beat Dallas a few weeks ago.

I recall many a game in years past when Garnett destroyed us doing little other than a turn around fade-away. If it works, it works.

Not nearly as effective. KG (MN, early BOS years) got to the line at a higher rate. He mixed it up with his turnaround by getting the ball deep on the block and attacking the rim.

He was a monster. Now he's just a dick.

So calling attention to two huge problems with this teams "franchise guys" is now trolling?

Really?

FWIW, every stat I brought up was not made up. So, how is this baiting?

Sheesh!

I'm not a fan of LMA's game and athletically he's already declining. It shows in his play and even he has admitted he lost a step:

"I've Definitely Lost One Of My Steps"
- Nov. 15th

Lillard's defense needs A LOT of work.

These are issues or at least should be if you take off the homer glasses.

MIXUM was banned for much less trolling than what Fez is doing these days. It's annoying.

It's only annoying when the troll has somewhat of a point. It's laughable when they talk from their ass.

Fez thinks the gas from his ass is making a good point. I think he's only joking. Anyone actually serious about the shit he spits must be a DMC fan or something.

The problem is the alternatives that you have wanted us to draft in the past have been butt-shitty. Aka, Dion Waiters. Hot garbage.

If posters don't like Fez's posts just don't reply. It's pretty simple.

Fez, I see that you have been banging on my man LA for a while now...... to each his own. You can bring up any stats and equations you want, poll all the league coaches and GMs and i bet you he is one of the top 5 PFs in the game.

I think Fez raises some valid points with Aldridge ... but Jesus, plucking on that one string guitar over and over isn't making it any more palatable.
