There has been several rumors about each of the two wing players from Denver being on the block and Portland being a possible destination. Afflalo is generally considered to be a bit better of a player but is he the better for fit what Portland is in the need for?
Stats:........Pts....Reb...Ast...Blk...TO/A....(this season)
Afflalo......14.5...3.0...1..9....0.1...1.19/1
Chandler..13.9...5.2....1.5....0.4...1.07/1
So the stats are extremely close except in rebounding. It would seem the bigger need for the Blazers is at SF where Batum and Wright have easily been the least productive in terms of position. Given that Chandler can play the 2/3/4, it provides a lot of flexibility and gives a solid, productive option at the place where it is needed most.
Portland is loaded with options at SG as Dame slides over when Blake is in the game and CJ is showing signs of finally being more consistant. Barton is a change of pace guy and Crabbe is probably the best defender besides Wes. The options as SF are much thinner and usually involve going small and getting killed on the boards.
Given that their contract status is the same (both have a player option for next year per ShamSports) who do you think is the better fit for the Blazers?
