Great first post for a new thread! Nice job.

To answer your question I believe Billups can be at the PF now but he and his staff can not actually coach the players. I do think they can shag balls and talk but actual coaching is not allowed.

shagging and balls? There goes another thread, lol.

Seriously, anyone know who is going to coach summer league? Will it be Billups himself? I know rookie coaches have done it before.

It should be Billups. Dunno why it wouldn't be.

Call it a gut feeling or whatever you want, this guy is gonna be a great coach. You can just see it. Players are locked in on everything he’s saying.

You hear him saying 'everyone runs the same stuff - just some teams do it well', 'details, details, details', 'we're going to keep doing this until we get it right'.

All things that are music to my ears!

A lot of interesting stuff here.

We didn't get any of this access with Stotts from what I can remember. Hopefully this is something we see more of in the future.

- Working on pick up points / off ball positioning with Greg Brown

- Helping Nas with handling emergency help situations - talking through scenario if we are in "ice" on side ball screens, but ball handler rejects and gets middle and we need help at the nail.

Couple play calls

- "Delay Slash" 5 out spacing (2 on wing, 2 in corners, big trailing at top of key). Ball swings to the big and dribbles out the wing into hand off with corner player. "Slash" is the cut the wing player makes when the big dribbles at him.

- "Zip Wide" Not as sure on this one, but taking it at face value it prob involves a zipper screen to bring a guard up the lane line with a wide pindown screen for a shooter on the weakside.

Was that Nas? I thought he wasn't doing summer league.

Billups and Hamilton were a tight dual. Hamilton was a 6'7" skinny guard. Seems Chauncey was the more vocal of the two which as a pg makes since.

Thanks for this.

Wish there was more of these but I'm sure it's due to the access media gets to summer league practices versus those in-season. Also just a lot fewer of them.

did you all notice the ball is no longer spalding? i knew it was changing this yr but looks diff

Yep they're moving to a Wilson ball in 22-23. Using it for summer league, but I think it's back to the Spalding ball for one last year for the regular season.

*Nevermind. New Wilson ball this year 100%

Imagine if Stotts was still the Coach with the current roster
