Am I naiive for thinking the process was thorough? Dames not sitting in on fake interviews
the truth is that neil olshey had chauncey as his first choice from the beginning (a lot of reports were saying the same), but he wanted to talk to other candidates in case something goes wrong

they were like insurance

i agree, but still, they hoped to get the job, without knowing its already been decided
You don't know that it was already decided. If it were, they could have announced weeks ago. Why on earth would these important busy people waste all this time other than to follow good business practice and do their due diligence.

Every rock doesn't have a conspiracy or an evil plot under it. Trust me.

i dont know the term, but olshey had his mind set on chauncey from the beginning

athletic, espn, woj, whoever, they all said the same thing

That's on par with any other interview process. Indiana otoh made a big deal about three candidates but then hired a different guy off a single phone call.

Dallas hired a guy without a single interview of him or anyone else.

Maybe they appreciated the opportunity to "knock their socks off" in the interview. Give them a reason to change their mind. Maybe be the 2nd choice in case Billups changes his mind. Gain experience for the next time they interview.

I think they will be ok with wasting their time

i already feel sorry for the players that are not fans of passing the ball (yeah, im looking at cj mccollum, powell, carmelo & simons)

chauncey billups demands ball movement bitchessssss

It's always a good thing to get interview experience. The process alone had to be extremely valuable to Becky and her career.

Literally no one is talking about Billups on twitter or otherwise. Friday night news drop right before the game starts. Masterful move if they dont want the blowback

at least stephen a smith will keep his mouth shut with two black coaches getting the head coaching jobs

if it was the other way...

they did literally the same thing when they fired oops I mean when terry parted ways.

Dallas makes sense, Kidd will fit in with their “culture”.

If true, I am disappointed.
Kind of like when Warren left presidential race, I figured Biden would sure be an improvement but definitely not my first choice.

I truly hope we don't see a situation where Hammon gets interviews but teams are too chicken to make the step and hire her.

He does? How do we know?

I watched all those Billups breaking down game film vids. Pretty basic stuff really. We know nothing about his vision as coach

Interesting mindset. Makes it seem like theyre not thrilled or confident about the hire

she should honestly leave San Antonio and coach in more systems. That’s what Udoka did. Since she didn’t play in the league she’s already behind some other people. Being limited coaching wise as well won’t help her. This all assuming she isn’t Pops heir.

Blazers are looking like the next Thunder/Rockets. What a stupid hire by an incredibly stupid GM.

I'm happy we didn't hire a coach that's 70 years old....I'm 67 and can't imagine the grind of an NBA season ...the time changes...I'm ready for all the old guys to retire and let young people take on the coaching grind for a change...it's why I don't think Terry Stotts or D'Antoni or Van Gundy should pursue more of the few jobs out there for coaches
