Great hire! Excited about this. Watch how much further he's going to take this team than Stotts did. You'll still have the apologists saying, "a coach doesn't matter much in the modern NBA" as we're watching the turnaround the Hawks, Clippers and Suns have.
You hear this, Kyrie? Coaching matters...

Blazers twitter going wild, saw a lot of people claiming they will not support the Blazers anymore, wtf he he was never found guilty

The rape charges aren't good, and I'm pretty sure he is guilty at least to some extent. But this was 22 years ago. Chauncey Billups is 44 now. That's literally half his life. Does this mistake become a qualifier for the rest of his life? How many of you are the same person you were 22 years ago. Maturity is not something that takes the same amount of time for everyone.

I'm sure based on how and where Dame grew up, knows people in his life that have made terrible mistakes and turned their lives around. He doesn't seem like the type of person that would agree with cancel culture.

I hope they address this some how. I doubt they will, but even if they don't, he's hired to be a basketball coach. If the Blazers win that is what he will be judged on.

i already feel sorry for the players that are not fans of passing the ball (yeah, im looking at cj mccollum, powell, carmelo & simons)

chauncey billups demands ball movement bitchessssss
There wasn't a lot ball movement with Dame either.

Exactly, nobody is an angel. Not you, not me, nobody is.

LA Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups and the Portland Trail Blazers are progressing in contract talks to make him the next head coach of the team, sources told ESPN.

The Blazers offered Billups the job Friday night, sources said, and president of basketball operations Neil OShey and Andy Miller of Klutch sports have begun negotiating a long-term deal that is expected to result in Billups taking over as head coach.

Everyone has there right to there opinion if they don't want to support the team because who they hiring then that's there choice. Will they loose ticket holders probably that don't mean there bad people do to there believes.

I am already getting tired of this backlash --- If you do not like Billups -- feel free to find another team -- i know maybe out of line but what i am really wanting to say would get me banned and prolly make me have to put a lot of money into a swear jar IF i had one -- LOL --

These rumors about Dame annoy me. I'm really hoping they're not true.

Happy with Chauncey, obviously he's a bit of a closed box but the type of pedigree that he has is encouraging.

Now let's hope that Klutch brings Draymond or Simmons, or maybe both...

I had never heard of a Billups sexual assault case which made me think it must have been recent since he's been in and around the NBA for decades.

Then I saw this is from 1997.... after brief research; I don't believe Chauncey needs to or should offer any explanation nor entertain any questions on this incident. Its 24 years old, when he was a 21 year old kid, at another persons house during a party with a bunch of other people involved. One other person "has not settled because he has no money". Theres no evidence available that Billups did anything wrong. Its not a pattern of behavior from him as we've heard no other allegations.

It's ridiculous this is being brought up by Blazer fans and/or Blazers media.

Former Celtics players Ron Mercer and Chauncey Billups settled the lawsuit of a woman who said she was raped at the home of Boston F Antoine Walker in 1997.

Mercer and Billups, now with the Nuggets, agreed to pay the unidentified woman an undisclosed sum, the Boston Herald reported yesterday.

Walker's housemate also was accused by the woman, but he has not settled because he has no money, said his lawyer, Willie Davis.

Walker also is named in the lawsuit but has refused to pay. He did not participate in the alleged assault but is accused of walking through a bedroom while it took place.

U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns hasn't entered a final judgment since granting a motion to dismiss the case.

A lower court has ruled that Walker had no duty to stop the alleged assault, but that ruling was overturned in federal court last year.

Walker has filed a counter-complaint against Mercer and Billups, but those records are sealed.

Walker's lawyer, Nicholas Theodorou, said, "Antoine continues to defend the case vigorously."

The woman said she was raped by Billups, Mercer and Walker's housemate in a bedroom of Walker's Waltham home after meeting the players at a comedy club.

No criminal charges were filed.

SURGERY FOR BROWN: Raptors G Dee Brown will miss a month after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

If anyone can turn Dame, CJ, Norm, Ant or whoever into a two way guard it's Chauncey...I think he's going to really be good for our players on the defensive side of the ball
