from Nets Daily:

"...here's what one Collins teammate said the other night: "This trade sucks. It really sucks (bleep), man. And it really sucks the way it happened. For all the guy has given this team, they shouldn't have done it this way. I'm not saying the next guy can't help, I'm just saying Twin was a chemistry guy. We have lousy chemistry, and he's the only one who gives us some, so tell me how this makes sense? He's definitely one of those guys who is going to be missed with all the changes we're going to go through." And then, after a long pause, there was this incredulous muttering: "And we're trading him for a guy who was just suspended (for conduct detrimental)?"

That's exactly what I said. Collins deserved better. The only legit reason to do this is to save cash, which is a weak reason. And apparently the Nets can't re-trade Swift for the rest of the year...

Ah, I was looking for that. Verrrrry interesting.

Don't send out Mags, the problem child. Send out Collins, the good guy.

Assholes.

Link? I'm trying to find that article...

frank probably said that as he left crying to his room

to bad collins cant, otherwise, we might have kept him

oh ya, read this by double ds:

Jack: Let's not overstate this deal too much - it's an exchange of backup bigs who have little in common other than the fact that they probably wouldn't make the Knicks' power rotation. That doesn't mean they can't play; indeed, it means that both needed a change very badly. It's not going to make or break anybody. As for the coach, the mere fact that you think that these are overpriced slugs who don't show solidifies the argument that no coach could get to them in their existing mental state

But that doesn't matter, because according to you, Dave D. sucks. And therefore is unreliable.

what difference does it make what his teammates think? Twin is gone, and NetsWorld is rejoicing. Happy happy joy joy.

this is a business! get over it! swift is a better player, collins is useless and the worst player in the nba. period

the trade was done because twin and his bad contract could not be traded since other teams do not want to pay $6M/yr for 2ppg and 2rpg no matter how much of the other things twin brings to the game...twin always becomes the deal-breaker in trade scenarios so thorn is thinking he may have better luck with the young and athletic stro...

Exactamundo. Get over it, it's done and he's a better player, and Collins crap contract is off the books a year early. Ha, I bet that quote was from Frank, lol, get him a Kleenex.

Trade used common sense and is a good thing. And if Swift shows some attitude and goes Latrell on Frank, then it becomes a great trade!

Hm. You've made a damn good point there, kudos to you.

If that was in fact the case, and there will be more trades (en route to a rebuilding), then I'll be okay with the Collins-for-Swift trade.

Basketball is more than a box score. More than any other professional sport, it is about chemistry and anticipation. Collins was the glue holding this team together, as evidenced by that quote from a Nets player.

whoever said that comment should go along w/ Collins too, unfortunately we know Lawrence Frank will never be outed

It's funny when Twin was here everyone was screaming about how horrible he was so on and so forth no that he's gone everyone is complaining

From Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace to a small group of Season Tickets holders

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Collins is a student of the game. - When asked about the Stro-Collins trade, the most interesting comment was that Collins is a great student. CW said that on the flight to Memphis, Collins was studying his Griz Scouting Report written by the NJ Nets so he can be as prepared as possible. Can any Griz fan see Stro doing this? Didn't think so.</div>

Swift still has that thing called potential. All of us here know he's a bust, but he could have a decent game or two and fool some idiot GM (Isiah, for instance) into thinking that he turned it around. That's never going to happen w/ Collins.

Why the fuck are people complaining about this?

The team is going nowhere! who cares.

Would be really funny if the Grizz start winning with Collins. And he still only puts up only 2/2.
