Nice revisionist history, I was a Kobe fan until you couldn't let it go.

You're so pathetic that you change who your favorite player because of what somebody else thinks?

Definition of a bandwagoner.

Re: Chill out Peyton, I mean Dirk fans. One ring isn't the goal and it isn't your era

Sure, because he's the most hated and demonized player I've ever seen. I'm drawn to that, and I like this trash talk.
This confuses me... I'm not knocking it, I just dont understand it I guess. This sort of fandom reminds me of flip flopping on WWF or something when someone turns heel or good guy? Is that an accurate comparison? (not a sarcastic question)

I'm flattered that you hate us, and some of you are his fans actually.

this also confuses me... it seems that you are more of a fan of the player and drawn to the player than the team... yet refer to the team as "us", again just trying to understand.

From what I can tell, it's being drawn to players who are irrationally dissed, from a basketball standpoint. I can understand that. I tend to become more sympathetic toward players that I view as significantly underrated.

I'm with HK... my favorite players are Mad Maxwell, Ron Artest, Latrell Sprewell, JR Rider, and Bonzi Wells.

Re: Chill out Peyton, I mean Dirk fans. One ring isn't the goal and it isn't your era

I think the reason Pippen became my favourite player during the '90s was because it felt like people unfairly talked down his value/impact simply because he was not as good as Jordan. Of course, I also loved how he played. That was pretty important, too.

I really liked McGrady, too, because I felt he was not perceived as as good as Kobe (during his Orlando years) because he played for a worse team (read: didn't play with Shaq and with Phil Jackson as coach).

Actually, I also liked Vince Carter. I think how he was seen as an anti-hero goes without saying.

My favorite Vince Carter dunk:

right... so Hulk Hogan became Hollywod Hogan everyone hates him now.. and he becomes a Hollywood Defender? Got it :)

Re: Chill out Peyton, I mean Dirk fans. One ring isn't the goal and it isn't your era

You've been a legit LeBron fan since last year's playoffs when Delonte was boning his mom? Well done sir, you're really sticking to your guns.

Why do you care who has intercourse with his mom? Are you jealous, are you sexist? I'm confused. :] Who the fuck are you?

:pimp:

Agoo this is my time now, your time is over. Whatever your favorite player is he's a has been, and you're a hypocrite because Kobe chokes into titles.

I'll admit to not reading the Blazers main forum, but I'm pretty sure if I went back through with a fine tooth comb, I wouldn't find anyone saying that this was Dirk's era, considering that wasn't even the best in this era at his position to play professionally in Texas.

Oh I have found some people saying that actually. You don't really notice avatars or sigs huh? There are plenty of examples.

I also notice that you like fancy stats that most people don't really go to debate LeBron's place in history over Kobe. Now, LeBron could get there some day, but from a historical stand point, its Kobe and there's no debate needed. I'll let Kobe tell you why.

Haha yeah right, first off Kobe's accomplishments are the two Finals MVPs he has over his 15 year career. He was Allen Iverson The Sequel in the first three titles.

If LeBron Finishes with only three Finals MVPs, more than Kobe and more leading than Kobe will ever know, I'll find that to be a sub-par career.

So Kobe was three titles better than a young Jordan? Good try.

I'll continue on with other examples that hopefully will help you understand. Want to know why Tim Duncan is the best power forward of this era to play professionally in Texas? I'm not sure that he can figure it out, but maybe you can spot the reason. Want to know why everyone assumes that stats would show that Bill Russell dominated Wilt Chamberlain? Probably because he needs two hands to carry something. Ever wonder why Michael Jordan is considered the greatest of all time? I'm thinking he's wondering that as well.

Blah blah blah Shaq is a better player than Duncan. Same Finals MVPs and more dominating. And Duncan never wanted to defend Shaq in their prime. Shaq was also the biggest loser getting swept five times before winning in 2000 at age 28.

Duncan didn't play anyone in 2007 (Amare suspended, Warriors beat Mavs). In 2003 Dirk got hurt in the WCF and the Nets blow. Then he played terrible in 2005.

Hmmmm........And Jordan was MUCH better than Tim Duncan back in 1989. What is your point? You're like one of those morons that criticized Jordan back then, or Shaq when he got swept in the late 1990s. Your opinion is stupid because Dirk won in one of his worst seasons.

Lets look at football, since you mentioned it and the same argument exists. Any idea why Tom Brady is the best QB of this era?
I could think of another reason, but Tom will give you the first two. Curious about why Joe Montana is in the discussion of greatest QBs of all time? Its not his stats, that's for sure. What's the difference between Peyton Manning and Dan Marino? Peyton has an idea what it could be. When exactly did Drew Brees join the discussion of top QBs in the league? I think this was that exact moment.

Oh God shut up already. Big Ben is a winner? More like the classic case of game managing, his teams win despite him. Aaron Rodgers owns him and he has one less ring.

Aaron Rodgers is a lot more consistent than Brady too the playoff game manager. Brady has terrible post-season numbers, and in his prime. In the end Peyton/Brady/whoever are not as talented as their NBA superstars.

The NFL's superstars are weaker, the NBA has greater superstars.

Now, this isn't to say that LeBron isn't an all-time great, because he is. But if you're looking at guys at the 2/3 positions, I'm taking Jordan and Kobe before and there are no stats that need to be discussed because those two will be the man on my team and we'll win. LeBron will get picked early in an all-time draft and be the man on that team, but that team isn't beating a Kobe or Jordan team. LeBron is still young and will win a championship or two or three (not seven). He's worthy of being in the discussion with Jordan and Kobe, but he isn't worthy of being mentioned before them (or Shaq, Russell, Wilt, Duncan, Bird, Hakeem, Kareem, Isiah, and Magic). Please note that being in the Jerry West, Karl Malone, Elgin Baylor, Oscar Robertson, Dirk Nowitzki range is a pretty huge accomplishment.

There's this thing called adjusted plus minus it has existed since about 2003. It measures intangible +/- impact on teams, adjusted for teammates and opponents. LeBron beats everyone and he beats everyone in the other fancy stats. He beats Jordan during his ringless phase too so good luck. Jordan didn't magically get better his team got better.

Kobe played some of the worst basketball I've ever seen against Oklahoma and Boston. Dirk won choking in game 6. You're a hypocrite dude.

Minstrel was very accurate, it annoys me how disrespected some people are so I am drawn to that.

I am drawn to people's hate. That's a better way of saying it.

Definition of a bandwagoner.

Well you have mental problems I guess.

A bandwagoner doesn't go from the most popular player in the league, to the least popular player. That's kind of the definition of non-bandwagon.

You pick your favorite player based on what other people think and say. Grow a pair and think for yourself.

1. Well no not really, most Kobe fans act like him. I think for myself, not like most Kobe fans.
2. That's still not the definition of bandwagon fan.

Ah my bad, yeah I am individual oriented, my mistake if you're confused.

I also meant to say people LIKE Mamba, made me into a James fan.

Lol good for you, I'm "arrogant" or whatever but Nice Guy Jason Kidd beats his wife. You don't know how these basketball players are off the court.

That was a great movie though. I love that music scene.

You're just making excuses as well, for inferior players that struggle in the playoffs but "win" (get bailed out). 2010 Kobe against Oklahoma.

So stop lecturing me. As a man Jordan shouldn't preach either, he only fights unathletic white teammates.

As many as Jordan after six playoff runs. By 2019? A lot more than you.

He's not retiring brah.
