Jesus folks:
Everybody calm down. Chill the fuck out.
It is Jay - Son - Fuck - Ing - Quick.
If you react to a Jason Quick story -
IT'S ALL ON YOU!
We have been down this road before.
Sorry I don't agree. While I agree with you that Jason Quick isn't the best source, in the situation I tend to believe him. The reason being, is that when negotiations are not going as an agent wants them to and they think some pressure needs to be added they leak to the press. This has been done for years, and this is the exact type of situation that this would happen.
People love to criticize Quick yet they get all giddy about a twitter that says a person of interest is on a plane to Portland. Sad.
Besides, why don't the Blazers and Roy have a deal yet? What could possibly be holding it up other than what Quick has reported?
Aldridge I can understand. There's not an exact number for him. Roy is easy - max deal for 5 years.
in pritch we trust
No, in Pritch you trust. There is no we in that statement.
People are so selective of what they want to believe.
Quick reports Millsap story ---> Everyone believes.
Quick reports contract story ---> Quick is a douche.

sorry but you've got it wrong. Quick is a douchebag period.People are so selective of what they want to believe.

dammit, why isn't every other post "in pritch we trust"? this was the mantra throughout other terrible moves and screw ups he's done.
y'all chose to give him the free pass and now you're upset?
How about some details about his terrible moves and screw ups. Not just 'he should have made a deal', details....like what deal?

Zach Randolph trade.
Not using RLEC contract.
This year's draft.
Wrong.
Quick "The Douche" reports Millsap story. Plausible story. Scenario fits within the known universe. Passes the "smell test". Potential positive outcome. Posters react to the possibilities. Debate the ramifications.
Quick "The Douche" reports Roy extension story. Not plausible. Wrong or missing data. Doesn't pass the "smell test". Some posters stay calm. Some posters freak out, start calling KP a douche based on a single unattributed report from a known "easily confused by the facts" reporter.
See the difference?
This isn't the first time people chose to believe one of Quick's stories and not others. This one was simply an example.
One report contradicts common sense, one doesn't. Quick is probably not wrong in every single thing he reports, he's just a questionable source. When he reports something that makes no sense at all, the "Quick is wrong" probability goes up. That's all.
On every report he offers, each person can decide how likely they think it is, considering both Quick's reputation and the objective likelihood of the story itself. One doesn't have to either condemn Quick on every report or believe him on every report in order to be internally consistent.
That's fine. I just find the constant Quick bashing to be going a little too far, especially after the contract article. (And oh yes, it's a BASHING)

Are you the defender of Quickzano?
