Man... I was about to be like.... they hired him back???

The Niners make sense. I want to see what Kap can do with CK.

I want them to burn and fail but they won't and it makes me mad...

However if after two or so seasons and the niners still suck and Helfrich is looking bad... This could be a good scenario for the Ducks lol

Aaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!! I was still hanging on to a shred of Niners loyalty by my finger nails but now I'm in free fall. Every time I think the Yorks can't get any more stupid, they prove me wrong in a spectacular way. Kap better enjoy his health while he can......

So now it's Oregon vs. USC in the NFC West all over again. Must be awkward for Duck Seahawk bandwagoners.

Does this mean that Kaep definitely comes back? I thought that was cost-prohibitive due to his salary cap hit.

I imagine Kap coming back was a major reason for CK signing with the Niners. He is perfect for Kelly's system.

Good hire. I wouldn't be surprised to CK flourish in a CK offense. Oh crap. They both have the initials CK.

On paper he seems to be but I not so sure that it is slam dunk (either in fit or that he comes back). That injury could also linger. A lot to pay a guy who has some many questions and might not even start the year as the starter even if you do bring him back.

No CK is perfect what it really comes down to is, can Chip build a better oline for this system and can he improve their defense that isn't THAT deep anymore. They'll need a lot of bodies to keep up with his system health wise.

bwahahahhaahhahahaahhaahahahaahahahahha oh my god :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh: I'm SOOO Sorry niner fans!! (coming from an Eagle fan).

Now they just need to pick up Griffin and Manziel, and Kelly can have a triumvirate of quarterbacks that have no chance of being successful anywhere except in his offense.

I like the hire. Who else were they going to get? Mike Shanahan? Yay.....

I wish Kiko, Bradford, and Butt fumble would have been packaged up with Chip.... god damn him. Only 2 good knees among the three of em, and no good QB.

That's the best part of this hire..... Chip is NOT the GM. His terrible GM'ing skills were getting in the way of his coaching.

As a lifetime Jets fan, I used to think that Woody Johnson was a bad owner. But Gabe York takes the cake. What a douchebag! Kelly won't last a year with that kind of dysfunction around him. It will.be hard for him to contact the owner when he's bulll dozing youth soccer fields in Santa Clara!

Jed is a tool. I want the guy gone so badly. I don't even really want to support the team while he's around. I can't imagine Chip will get along with him much better than Harbaugh did.

This could be a good signing. The 49ers really need a drastic change in their offense. I'm sick of these pathetic "power offenses" that can barely move the football. The one thing you can say about Baalke, is he's good at drafting defense, so they might be a good pair.

Damn UCD that's gotta be tough. I'll never forget the story about you and Glickman, now you've got a Duck coaching your team!

Nah, the Niners haven't been relevant since the early 90s, much like Mariner fans, anyone that still likes them are true fans.
Yeah I was in second grade when we won our last sb. Mom and I had our niners sweaters on. Thats about all I remember.

I hope Kelly brings a lot of Ducks to the 49ers like he brought to the Eagles. It's fun to see your college favorites join your pro team. I believe the 49ers will take a serious look at DeForrest Buckner in the draft.

I hate Chip, I hate the Ducks and I really hate the 9ers. However, I think this was a solid hire for the 9ers. Though Chip's GM skills left a little to be desired (still think he should have been given more time to execute his vision), I think he's a good coach, if not great. If I was a 9er fan my main concern would be York/Baalk's ability to get along with Chip. I mean, they fired a GREAT coach in Harbaugh because ultimately they didn't get along or see eye to eye. And Harbaugh has a strong personality. Chip is very similar I think. Rough around the edges. Would be wise of the 9ers brass to not make the same mistake with Chip. NFCW got more interesting that's for sure. Rams in LA and Chip in SF.

Go Hawks.

Honestly, I think it's a little unfair to judge Chip's GM skills because I can't think of a single GM that was given less than one year to shape a roster. This had nothing to do with Chip the GM and everything to do with Chip the personality. His feuds with three notable stars, and most recently Demarco Murray, are what did him in. Paired with their record this season, he was going to get the ax, but it really seemed premature to me. He completely turned that team around almost immediately. The NFL really is a "what have you done for me lately" business.
