We're still looking at hiring someone with LESS experience than the guy we just fired at perhaps the most important point in the franchises history.
Someone who's never made a major trade or signed a major free agent.
Are you seriously going with "Well you never know!" as a reason to hire a fucking general manager?

He's a great candidate; just read this thread (ignoring the race stuff and the general whining from some of you) and you will see evidence of that. Experience matters less when there's an experienced team around him, as there would be in this case.
The "you never know!" is an affirmative defense to the "he's inexperienced" charge. Experience is much less important than capabilities (which can be influenced by experience level, but is not SOLELY reflected by that).
