OT Chris Peterson steps down as UW football head coach

From what I understand up here in Seattle after talking to a coworker who is a UW fan, if Peterson were to stay head coach they would lose Lake. I think this is Peterson moving up, Lake moving in, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Peterson look for a new job in a couple of seasons.

What is so godly about this Lake dude that they absolutely had to get rid of a fantastic coach like Peterson?? Chris Peterson is a name brand coach with great recognition that can easily hold his own. Prodigy assistant coaches moving up fail all the time.

this looks a lot like when Bellotti stepped aside at Oregon to keep the Ducks from losing Chip Kelly....except that Lake hasn't had close to the success as a coordinator that Chip had had. Lake is a good recruiter though
According to MB, his retiring from coaching had more to do with his ravaged knees then anything else which is why he never pursued another coaching job since. He stated that his knees couldn't take all the standing and walking around that practices required of him. Of course like Peterson now, he retired a very wealthy man and probably doesn't mind missing the 80-100 hour work weeks.
