Why is it I for about the last 10 years our FO is getting schooled by the Red Sox FO. I feel that although they gave up talent, I feel they got Sale cheap. We could have and should have been involved.
Your absolutely right Vic, I just want them to be competitive and hopefully get into the Playoffs. As far as a World Series, I highly doubt it.Sale also comes with a very team friendly contract for the next three seasons. The Yankees are still doing it the right way for once. Trying to go tit for tat with the Red Sox right now would put the Yankees right back into the world of bad contracts and an empty farm system. The Red Sox decided before the Yankees the proper way to go and they also got lucky when the Dodgers took a few of their huge contracts off the books. They had a last place finish in 2012, won the series in 2013, two more last place finishes in 2014 and 2015 and then a first place finish this past season. Now they have a young roster that they can try and win with for a few years. The Yankees need to worry about the Yankees and not worrying that the Red Sox might get a world series. I know fans think that way but teams can't.
why, because Theo would sale Cashman his Plan, a long time ago.....lol
I'm sure the Sox are going to be the East favorite for some time, until the Yanx can build a new Pitching staff: both SP's and RP's. Time is required to build both INF/OF. Once C.C. is off the books; and IF they could trade Ellsbury-(take a loss if ya' got too).
both stand in the way of two top notch ace pitchers, yet to be acquired......?
ntm- maybe we will see a wonder boy come from up the ranks......s/b an exciting; but re-building year, still.....!
I'm prepared for a contender yet don't expect a pennant, not this year, it would be sweet tho'; don't get me wrong. I'd love to see a sound, long term-rebuilt team. "But it's going to take time, a whole lot of precious time, and money, to do it, to do it, to do it right"..........
I will give the Yanx 'til next Winter Meetings, once C.C. is off the books, and who knows what we will see this year, more Sanchise's....? Hopefully a few Minor Lg Pitcher's are ready play with the big boys, in the Bronx.....
And here the "experts" had Sale going to the Nationals while pondering why was Dombrowski maintaining a low profile. From a personal standpoint I could give a shit less, yep credit Dombrowski on that move, he's made some slick ones. And yes Sale does come at a reasonable price given todays market. So let ESPN smoke red Sox Pipe again this year. Last seasn when the Sales trade rumors popped up someone on this board can't remember who pointed out that Sales Delivery style looked like a trip to TJ surgery waiting to happen. I have no comment as to the Yankees not acquiring Sale one way or the other.
...that was me...he has that feared "inverted W" motion that the "experts" refer to. No one can accurately predict an arm injury but he did make a change in his delivery a few years ago that suddenly added 6-7 MPH to his FB...and his pitching motion became very violent even though his elbow has held up, so far.

3 years at 38 million, please tell me who is going to be available that is better than Sales let alone for that price?
I'm sorry if I made you feel as if I was attacking your position, It just that I'm an old timer and since this organization hasn't developed a starting pitcher in however how long (Andy P.), I felt that we needed to explore the possibility. I'm sure Cash did, but it wasn't in the Yankees best interest, however, The Red Soxs besides Moncada, gave up over 62,000,000.00 in cash plus 3 other prospects. It's not like going tit for tat with Red Soxs, but I don't want to keep finishing behind them on talent that fits into our program of non long term and young players. The trade the Red Soxs made for the Milwaukee reliever helps proves my point... In closing, as a Yankee fan I should be happy if we sign Chapman to 5 years and 80+ million while the Red Sox add equally as big of impact player(s)... which i know everyone here shares my same disgust.no one.... it's an oxymoron, I guess, or I am, lol-
or would you say Cashman dropped the ball again....?
Exactly. RSPN have always picked the Red Soxers to win the AL East. I wonder how much they receiveThe Yankees better get cracking. Those Asshats on MLB Network are already saying they are the favorites in the East. Then again they do that every year.
It's ESPN and MLB Network that have this love fest for the Red Sox, especially that Idiot Kevin Millar.Exactly. RSPN have always picked the Red Soxers to win the AL East. I wonder how much they receive
in kickbacks? Lol
Pitching is important, how bout facing Price, Scherzer, and Verlander, Baltimore did it in '14 sweeping the Tigers right out of business. Price. How bout a Cleveland team with only 1 available and reliable starter facing Price, Porcello, and Buckholtz, bingo Cleveland sweeps them right out of business.

Now 59, he's got lava rock for his birthstone....
ah shit, that was our MIA/Rick....Rob I heard that Chapman received a 92 Mill. offer don't know from who yet. You are as old as you feel, and you my friend are definately not an old Geezer like Rick.
Never a prob Major (Frank isn't it???).... seriously, I never took offense at all, hope I wasn't sounding sarcastic. I can at times, but definitely meant no offense. I appreciate the open forum of ideas, and that was not a bad idea. In fact, Sale I'd loved to of seen in Pinstripes any day, even with that inverted "W" pro-nation, shades of RJ-...~!~
I have no prob seeing Chapman ink a 5 yr; not sure on 6. As the years pass, how much velocity and/or accuracy, will Aroldis lose on his fastball, due to age, (forbid arm troubles), I wonder how many mph he will still throw; say - 99mph at 35/36 yrs of age? 98? The million dollar question for any pitcher, eh, 'will he stay healthy'.....
How old are ya' MB- (no need for numbers) other than >50/ >60/ >70 ? Me, I've got 6 decades, and numerous other lives too. .....born a Yanx Fan, as we all were, die one too....Now 59, he's got lava rock for his birthstone....

Sometimes we all feel like Geezers, even at my ripe age of 47, but you know I have always learned is that friends keep you young.^^^
thanks Lillie, definitely, as I've long been saying: if you and no one else knew how old you were, then how old would you be??? A young heart makes for a young(er) fresh outlook. I'll take that, not old, and the most important of all: and not a Geezer, ....![]()
