Yes, but probably more so for Trent. I mean he is the guy fans wanted to start so we could trade CJ.
Even if Terry starts Hood, Trent will get more minutes at SG now instead of SG/SF

Trent will play more than Simons, but he’s also more proven. Now is Simons time. Third year in the league, second in the rotation. No excuses, he either steps up or the team (should) moves on from him.

This is absolutely true, but it is still Trent and Hood who will be taking over for CJ. Simons needs to step up as well as he needs to spell Dame, but Trent plays the same position as CJ. Trent is the one who is looking for a big contract this summer. In my mind, he has much more to prove if he wants to get "paid".

Was talking to my friend who studied sports med and orthapedics. He thinks 4 wks is super generous. Even if it heals, it will need strengthening that could push it to 6-8 wks. The reccuring thing is another worry.

It's weird, when we barely beat teams who are missing key guys, it's often said we should've blown out them out because they're short handed. Then when we missing 3 key players, that shouldn't make a difference.

ok great...you've discovered that people posting on the internet...such as ourselves....are not always consistent thinkers, or posters. Let's see if we can gauge who commits the most egregious sins of inconsistency. That gauge can be pinned at the top of the meltdown thread

after that exercise, maybe we should consider why it is that this Portland roster is almost never healthy; that "completely healthy Blazer squad" seems to be a mirage.

He continued to play after getting stepped on. Wonder if that made it worse?

it sounds like it was non-displaced, so maybe all that happened was that it increased inflammation

I think the 4 weeks is just when they check up on it again.

Probably, realistically, Nurk, Collins and CJ are pretty much out until March at the earliest*.

*pulled directly out of my arse, but based on the Blazers bad luck

Good the pick we gave to Houston is 1-14 protected. Yeah I know most fans don't want to face reality but next draft is loaded.

STOMP

Lis franc injury.....that completely derailed Chien Ming Wang career as a promising pitcher for the Yankees. That makes me nervous. Other players have had better results afterwards and I'm sure the treatment has advanced. Still.....ugh!

Please blow it up. Dame won’t do it but get him out of his misery and trade him. Trade cj. Trade Nurk. Let’s rebuild and do it right

Is the water in Oregon calcium deficient? The water here in the midwest is super hard and I constantly see calcium deposits everywhere. Maybe this is leading to brittle bones. Legit question.

Seriously don't people get sick of watching the same rerun over and over and over?

If you haven't seen this one before, I apologize for the spoiler. Dame will play 40+ a night, he will carry this rotting corpse into the playoffs where we will be unceremoniously given a gentleman's sweep out of the first round. People will applaud Stotts for "doing what he could with the roster he had" and Neil will talk about how good this team will be when it's healthy next year. Blah blah blah blah and then he'll draft some diamond in the rough shooting guard in the second round next summer.

The End.

Exactly. Then it buys another year for Stotts. Just blow this shit up and let’s do it again.

I don't get this re-evaluation in a month business. Do they expect it to heal on its own? I don't want to have a situation where they realize nothing improved in a month and THEN they intervene with some invasive procedure and knock him out for the whole season.

Gonna read up on this a bit ugh-- see what I can find with regards to this injury. Would be nice if Neil does a media session, but he didn't even do one for Nurk.
I think they do the re-evaluation because the body naturally heals broken bones. I realize foots can be tricky but I mostly think that because they tend to put these guys in walking boots instead of on crutches. The foot needs absolutely no weight on it and I think it's very realistic that he'll be back in around six weeks but we'll have to see.

Dame/Simons
Trent/Hood
DJJ/Nas
RoCo/Melo
Kanter/Giles

9 seed.

Reminds me of WCF year, both Nurk and CJ were hurt that year.

Nurk was; so was Kanter. CJ wasn't...he averaged 40 minutes. Anybody who can average 40 minutes isn't hurt. CJ just played shitty against the Warriors
