Rumor CJ McCollum for Jahlil Okafor

Not a good move, IMO. Dame and CJ are one of the best backcourts in the league. They have amazing chemistry and are close friends. Okafor would be a nice get, but not at the expense of CJ

CJ is one of the best creative players in the game - and he fits our culture; a great team mate and a stand-up guy.
He's still only got one proper seasons worth of games under his belt. - so I cant wait to see how he plays with a little bit more seasoning.

I think CJ is definitely a keeper (barring a no brainer trade. Tho I don't see any option being on the table. Ex: No, Paul George isn't being traded).

CJ has the vibe of a wily veteran like Rip Hamilton (altho iirc, Rip's arms were quite freakishly long). Very smart, tricky, and dependable.

There are certainly some reasons Pro and Con but it is at least interesting that this KEEPS COMING up and it's from back there.

• Would this balance out the roster more?
• How does the extra two years of additional cap space help out if at all?
• Do you like Okafor more at C or PF and which would be his best opposite C/PF on the current roster?
• CJ is the better player right now even though Okafor is the younger player w/possibly more potential. Is straight across enough?

I'd be absolutely shocked if this went down. A big who can't play defense and is troubled off the court for one of the most inventive scoring guards in the NBA and a guy that wants to be in Portland. The Blazers need to add talent, not exchanging it at this point ... about the only big in the league I might trade CJ for is Cousins, and I'd have to think about that. CJ's a great player and a chemistry guy.

Look at his current situation, they've tried to show him that he's the Alpha by firing every coach under the sun who doesn't see eye to eye with him. I never really felt that Cousins was too much of a problem until he ran Karl out of town, who has lead teams to the playofffs 22/27 seasons as a head coach, including 1 finals appearance and three conference finals appearances. I don't think Karl is one of the all time coaches, but if he can't last more than a season next to Cousins then I consider that to be a massive red flag.

Don't forget Karl is also a guy responsible for shaping our very own Terry Stotts.

We will be able to tell how legit Cousins is after one season with Vogel as coach. If they retain Rondo they should absolutely make the playoffs under Vogel {in my opinion}. Anything less = trade Cousins to whoever is willing to give you their pudding pop in return.
