Also, where is this "21 mil TPE" number coming from?

It's 16.8 mil + 100k. So not enough for Grant/Sabonis/Turner.

Each team frames the deal however they like. So for them, they're taking Nance into their tpe. For us, we send snell and Nance for hart, NAW, and didi, and then send cj for sato and 20+ tpe.

From our perspective, NAW/Louzada come into a TPE, Hart comes in against Nance, and Sato is against CJ, generating the 20.8M TPE

There's also nothing saying that the Blazers couldn't package picks and move up if they don't get lucky with the lottery, especially considering that if the lottery holds to form they would have picks #8 & 9. That should easily put them in range for Smith/Banchero/Holmgren
I am saying that nobody will trade one of top three picks in this draft for any combination of other picks in this draft.

Might as well rest Nurk. We don’t want him to get hurt again.

Well if you look at this team was declining every year something had to happen. Did I see this way about players coming in no but probably majority of these players might not be on this team next year. Yes supposedly we made clippers better I don't know they got better for the remaining of this season especially without there two star I don't expect them to be much better. Pelicans they got CJ but without Zion maybe little bit for the rest of the season. You don't try to get better if trying to get high draft pick I do like the Hart aquastion and hopefully they pickup his contract next year due I believe he Billups type of player. But we still have couple days left and let see what happens. But looks like Joe going build this team on his and Billups vision and will it get better this year due this year is a wash. I know one thing all the players that there bring in has one thing in common they all can defend at decent level.

Since when could you combine players with TPEs?

Got it. thanks. A bit confusing. But how do you combine TPEs?

Bro I've been working and trying to figure out how I feel about this trade.

I was on the fence until I saw we traded nance too.

The fuck is going on? Are we just going to try to outbid someone in the summer to be our starting 4? What the fuck is the plan? I have no idea what the plan is anymore.

I didn't expect MORE from a CJ trade, but I did expect better.

I have no words for this. Dame has 4 years left of being able to carry the team and... I don't know if this shit lines up in his window. (And I'm being somewhat generous with 4 years... It most likely is 3).

This sucks. There's no direction but hoping to overbid in FA. At least in my mind.

With NO's new roster, once Zion comes back I don't see us getting their first this year.

Like, Woj is reporting this 21M number so it's coming from somewhere. But something tells me it's just impossible. I ran the numbers. Maybe Cronin made a fucking cap mistake and fed it to Woj.

You are assuming a buyer who wants to be stuck in Portland. What if the buyer wants to be able to move the team? The first step is to lower the short-term value and torch the fan base. Drive the fans away, then you can convince the league to let you move. That was how SLC, OKC, and Memphis all got teams.

The Jazz?!? That was 1979.

Grizz happened over 20 years ago.

Seattle had a shitty arena and no one wanted to build a new one. Plus Seattle had/has huge competition for the sports dollar.

Portland is a profitable franchise.

The league is not going to sign off on the team moving.

The owners will make more money from expansion fees.

The Moda is in fantastic shape and has been continually improved.

Blazer's only competition is the Timbers.

Isn't there one scenario where we can add 5 mil to a TPE if it's used in a simultaneous trade?

I just said how. Hart and the other 2 for Nance and snell works $$ wise for us. Then cj for sato.

What overpriced talent can get get for our 21M trade exception? (if that is actually what it is)

If we wanted a 20M trade exception couldn't we just toss Zeller into the deal? I mean we have to waive him anyways to even complete the deal in the first place.

How does Sato for CJ work?
We're taking in less than we sent out. That's always OK. So since we sent out CJ, received Sato, and all other pieces of the deal are accounted for separately, the CJ for Sato swap generates a giant TPE.

CJ for Sato is an illegal trade. You can't trade 10M for 30M.

New Orleans is not under the cap. They have to abide by the 125% rule. Sato makes 10M. CJ 30M. You can't toss the 20M TPE they have into the deal, it can't be combined with other players (ie. SATO)
