Is he as good now as when he received his first all-star nod? I don't think so. His inside game is vastly improved, but he no longer inspires confidence (or fear, I would wager) whenever he pulls up for a mid-range or deep jumper. His ball handling is still shaky and his defense is only marginally improved, and it's looking like his ceiling in both categories is somewhat below average. He gets scored on at will, making his high points and assists averages rather misleading. A Max player should be clearly better than his opponent most nights, in my opinion, otherwise you're building a very average team for the long-run.
