Cleveland would be a great trading partner IF the Blazers would trade LaMarcus. (4 Viewers)

Trading our franchise allstar for rookies...don't know about you guys but I don't want to rebuild after the season we just had and why, why would anyone want to make Cleveland better? To each his own but if it were me, I'd move this whole thread to the Cleveland fan site and let it die a quick death. It's like the Rolling Stones wanting to fire Mick Jagger and hire Vanilla Ice because he had a #1 hit...baffles the mind. We've got young talent up to our ears already...give me some serious battle tested bench playing vets at this point

Not sure how Monroe is a rookie.

We did have a good season but we were one miracle, last-second '3' from not winning a series again for the umpteenth year in a row. Aldridge was great for the first 2 games but shot 40% the next nine games. I think Lillard is the leader going forward and just not sure I would invest so much money in a guy from age 30-35 who keeps drifting farther and farther from the basket.

Would it really be so bad if Cleveland won a championship?

Mavs stayed loyal to Dirk, Lakers stayed loyal to Kobe, Spurs stayed loyal to Duncan. (way over the 30-35 age) I want Portland to stay loyal to LA and I want a championship with him as the MVP. Old school. The revolving crap shoot of roster changes gets really old for me. This Blazer team has a chance to be great for another decade.

yup, it would suck. If LeBron is part of it it would double suck.

You think that a championship for the city that houses the Indians and the Browns would be so bad? I can think of worse places.

All won a title before they we shown loyalty. Wait, was Dirk?

I'm a Blazer fan and every other team in the league can lose out every year as far as I'm concerned. I'm talking Blazer dynasty, not Cleveland..the only thing I like in ohio is the Rock and roll hall of fame

That is 10+ titles worth to be loyal to. I like Aldridge but he is nowhere near that conversation. They are out of the 1st round once in his entire career. Loyalty to what?

Yeah, Dirk sure didn't and keeping your franchise allstar is the best way to win a championship here in Rip City. Dirk and Duncan also took paycuts to stay competitive. I respect that.

Out of the first round because of an off balance 30 footer with .9 seconds left by Lillard

To the Stotts coached, team of Lillard, Mathews Batum and Lopez. that's what. I'm not watering down the possibilites we are on the verge of achieving here. I'm not putting Nate McMillan or Maurice Cheeks or Mike Dunleavy in the conversation, Terry Stotts (also a championship)

Terry Stotts has an under .500 record as a HEAD coach and a title as an Assistant....that is a pretty big difference. The list of assistant coaches with rings compared to head coaches is quite a cap. Pop and Phil have put a lot of rings on assistant's fingers.

Wait a minute?! I didnt know it was game 7?

Of course it wasn't but history says they don't win Game 7 on the road. Listening to the interviews after game 6, I would say they were in no place to defy history.

That shot was a great moment....a historical one in fact. But the fact is was so historical tells us how close we were to not moving on.

Don't down play our beat down of Houston. We beat them fair and square. Any of you trying are trying to sell used cars.

Nobody down played miami's last title. If you tried using sas epic last minute fade to discount miami's title is another epic failure

Go Blazers!

If you flip a coin and get heads 40 times in a row, what are the chances u get heads again on your next flip?

Go Blazers!

Actually, many people commented during the title series how the Spurs were one unlucky bounce away from repeating. As for beating down Houston, Portland trailed for over 70% of that series. I love the fact they won and how they won was epic but there is still two sides to it.

History says you don't win the first two games on the road.

That series was tight and game 7 would have been the same.

I don't even think that Lillard made that shot. It was a trick done with mirrors and some $$$$$ paid to the refs.

There are two sides to a win in a basketball game, now that I agree with. One side, however, still wins

The funny part about that play is that even though it was a 30 ft shot with only .9 seconds......Lillard was not off balance. He rarely is, regardless if he shooting from 3 feet or 30 feet. He has an amazing consistent form almost every time he shoots.

Clearly this is why futbol is the sport of the future. Two sides, and sometimes nobody wins!

Anyway, my two cents about trading LA to Cleveland...an emphatic "NO"

I thought of something today. I'll forewarn you, it's ridiculous, nonetheless it did come to mind. I wonder if the Blazers quiet free agent period is their way to try to get LA to demand a trade.

So that they can diminish his value?
