Gutfeld on the climate hysteria protests

By Greg Gutfeld | Fox News

Climate freaks shut down traffic in Washington, D.C., on Monday.

As this idiocy rolls on, we should note that people trying to go to work and put food on their tables don't hurt the environment. Creating endless blocks of idling cars and trucks does. Which is what that tantrum did.

And this didn't harm the powerful. A traffic jam just becomes their drivers' problem.

The UPS lady doesn't have that luxury. Or anyone trying to get to the emergency room, or a loved one to chemo.

The media elevates these idiots.

Because rather than interfering with their lives, activism gives the media an easy assignment.

Just walk outside and shove a microphone at a pathetic attention-seeker. It beats real work.

Worse, we have adults advocating for handing life-changing over decisions to children.

Seriously, is this healthy?

Here's a question. What would happen if parents in a cult maniacally and falsely informed their children that the world will end in a decade?

Teachers would call social workers — and they would take the kids.

That's the unspeakable truth media hacks ignore.

Never mind that kids know nothing about nuclear energy or the costs of solar or wind power.

It's what adults are doing to those children — by fomenting terror — that's so gross and immoral.

But activists and media know kids make great political shields because any critical response will be cast as punching down.

Blocking a path to work for thousands is the real low blow.

The media won't see it that way.

They're too busy showing how much they care before packing their gear back into their gas-guzzling, idling vans and heading to the airport for the next climate summit.

Adapted from Greg Gutfeld’s monologue on "The Five" on Sept. 23, 2019.

Nonsense. Small farms and small ranches are extremely inefficient and account for far more pollution and waste per meal provided than any corporate food entity.

The number of small farms and ranches needed to provide the same amount of food were corporations to be banned would greatly accelerate the amount of methane being let loose in our atmosphere.
utter nonsense ….and you don't account for the economics of cottage industry organic small farming..many will deliver your food to your door on a route..or store your meat in their lockers until you need it.......I'm glad Jim Belushi farms 93 acres instead of Phillip Morris farming a billion acres and staffing with robotics....but hey...you can build your corporate empire to your hearts desire...no skin off your elbows..small farming and local food are smart living ….you don't need to ship beef from Brazil to Oregon...shop locally, support your local farmer

I understood your position to be that you don’t agree that’s much of a problem.
That is correct.
And I don't see any evidence suggesting we have 12 years left.
I see No reason not to eat meat.
I see no reason at all to scary the shit out of young people and give them the fear that unless they affect changes, 12 years is all they got.
I see all of this crap being pushed by charlatans or out right power seekers.

I would like to see the population educated in what is actually happening, because I do think we will indeed face some difficult challenges where I do not think the current crop of power seekers exhibits even the faintest clue they know how to lead.
As a group they fear monger. Damn poor.

As an adult, if you want to mire yourself in pessimism, that’s your choice. But please, leave the kids out of it.

This line is worthy of another closer view.

Politicians that generate fear in the younger population should be slammed by all. And damn hard too.

Carol Roth: Stop scaring our kids – the world is NOT about to end and we are NOT all about to die

By Carol Roth | Fox News

Children today should be enjoying their youth. They arguably live in the greatest time ever, with unparalleled access to information, connectivity around the globe, advances in health care and tremendous opportunity. But instead of embracing optimism, the adults in their lives are filling them with fear.

In the last few weeks, from town halls on climate change to “climate justice” marches, I have seen scores of children – some teens, some squarely of elementary school-age – proclaim their anxiety about the world ending.

Depending on the source, children are being told that if we don’t act right now to solve one particular “crisis” or another, we will all be dead in anywhere from 18 months to 12 years. That’s not a message of hope and optimism that kids should be embracing.

While it is great for children to learn to be responsible global citizens and take care of our planet, there’s a positive and responsible way to communicate that.

I recall in my own childhood celebrating Earth Day, where we raised money to help plant more trees (something that actually helps the environment, by the way) and learned about recycling, all without having the living daylights scared out of us.

Adults can deliver the message of taking care of the planet and have an impact doing so with positive language and outcomes instead of nihilistic ones.

While I am not a psychologist (and I don’t play one on TV, either), I do believe that for kids, who are developing mentally, having this fear communicated to them during this critical time of their lives is abusive. Worse, it is done by parents, schools, the media and politicians alike. Everyone needs to immediately get a grip.

I remember when adults acted like adults instead of fear-mongers. Back in the 80s, when network television ran the nuclear war movie “The Day After,” there were warnings that it wasn’t appropriate for children and our parents wouldn’t let us watch it.

Now, the adults who are supposed to be shielding kids from unlikely doomsday scenarios are forcing those beliefs upon them and using the kids as political pawns.

It’s not just the climate change fear. I am not the first one to note that school shooter drills are also an unnecessary form of fear theater that does far more harm than good.

While any school shooting is one too many and more needs to be done to ensure school safety, planting the security threat in kids’ heads with practice drills surely creates needless trauma with no evidence of better outcomes.

Negativity is all around us, from mainstream media to social media. It’s not healthy for us to be constantly consuming a negative information diet, particularly when the general outlook for life is so robust. We need more gratitude towards the abundance, opportunities and advancements that surround us.

As an adult, if you want to mire yourself in pessimism, that’s your choice. But please, leave the kids out of it.

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/car...-about-to-end-and-we-are-not-all-about-to-die

This is so stupid. Don’t scare the kids, just be quiet and get over it. If we pretend things are fine they will be fine. So dumb.

An article on about Atlantic Meridional overturn circulation, AMOC. You will find many articles on the subject, like this one. There have been a multitude of grants issued to research the hell out of this and the effects of CO2 and such.
All great stuff too, fascinating even. I have read many, they search for a plethora of answers to a multitude of questions. But none seem to actually get to the point. Why does this heat transport system continue to move the heat for the low number latitudes to the high latitudes. None that I have ever read, and that is many, give a clues at to why this is or when it will change. Heck they don't even seem the wonder why it happens!

I have noticed this before though out my life. Experts in most any field, know it like no other, but they damn near never understand the Architecture or the big picture. And most do not want to be burdened with expanding their sphere.
We hear much about Green house, CO2, methane and.... but this is all nitty gritty, interesting as hell to some, even worth of spending a career being an expert. Grants are awarded, actually a hell of a lot. But you can never see the architecture from
studying any part. No Architect even wants to be the expert on any subject or part. There are always people more willing and able for any part. It simply is a matter of aptitude, character, and interests.

We can not change the machine or system via the study of the parts. You must go for the concept of the machine or system as to what it does, by design or happenstance. Only then can you possible effect a change and evaluate the feasibility. This always requires and Architect, 10,000 scientist will not due.

By building a moon-sized salt shaker that orbits above our poles?

The Earth prunes back any species that runs rampant in overpopulating their habitat. Simple fact of nature.

Humans cannot avoid this truth by denying it or by some brainy manmade solution.

Whatever 8 billion humans do, the Earth will use against us, as our numbers are the threat, not what we leave in our wake.

A man-caused slowing of climate change will result in a higher rate of famine, drought, disease, earthquakes, eruptions...

Either we REDUCE our POPULATION drastically, or the Earth will do it for us.

The Climate Change Hoax is just a diversion from the only actual threat to mankind's existence. Overpopulation.

Yes, the last two Avengers movies were fun. But those were movies and Thanos isn't real.

The idea that Climate change should be used to invoke this level of fear in anyone for any reason is despicable.

First off we know we have climate change, we have been enduring it since the beginning of the history of the planet. The current cycle has been in progress since the emergence of modern man (Cro-Magnon man).
It was necessary to allow the complete evolution of the populating the whole earth, less of course Antarctica.

The fundamental problem with Climate Change is the unprecedented sustained pace of change and it's root cause.

Right. Well I must admit, you do surprise me dog.
I think it was just about the time I met you that I attended a presentation about the earths Glaciers. The prediction was, all between 30s and 30N be gone in 25 to 30 years. It appears to be about on track, they will be gone on schedule. I suspect a few beyond the latitude constraint.

This is still happening dispite the reductions in the US over the past dozen years.

None of the proposals by any of the want a be leaders will reverse this happening. None will lower the sea level. They are fear mongering while seeking control.
I see nothing silly about calling it what it is.
We're still ADDING CO2 to the atmosphere, and you're conpletely disregarding the cumunalitive affect.

I said that I believe the basic principles involved in human impacts on climate change are true. I didn’t say that it isn’t being hyped and used for political purposes. I also am not certain that the problem is something that is solvable given world population along with technological and political realities.

So then why do you focus exclusively on ocean currents? Aren't there other factors affecting the climate that an Architect should consider?

It seems we quickly run out of points to disagree and more to agree.

Good question, and the answer to the second is absolutely.
But to answer your first, is, first you need to find the big dog, or the what is the equivalent of the 500 pound gorilla in the room.
When it comes to weather, it is pretty obvious that the Sea is indeed the major component involved. Then history as presented by NOAA tell us our weather system cycles. Noaa has captured the historical evidence of these cycle, an put it out there
for all to see.

Interglacial cycles.jpg

Five major glacial cycles. We toggle out of the warming periods and slowly build up glaciers, then toggle out of that to rapidly warm and melt the ice. We sure appear to be damn near at the toggle point again.
So what causes this to trigger?

It seems to me it is the rise in the sea and what that means to current flows. The current flow in the seas, is pretty much matched by the air flows, weather flows around the planet. These flows are a matter of physics, as you would expect on a spinning planet
covered by a layer of liquid and then gases. Stuff that flows.

Post-Glacial_Sea_Level big.png

Another chart of tracking the rise of the sea from the time of the last low of the sea, when the Northern Hemisphere was mostly covered with Glaciers, until now with the sea probable very close to as high as it gets again.
I can see the Sea, more specifically the Ocean currents being involved with triggering this cycle to change. Change the reason for the current flow to stop or change, trigger the Ice to form again.
The scientist study the hell out of AMOC! You can short cut that to heat transfer from the tropics to the Arctic. They study the hell out the affects of CO2, and it is interesting as all get out. But no trigger in sight.
The geoid filling would certainly qualify as a trigger, it sure would change the current flow which is the transport system for heat transfer. The basis of AMOC.

The rise in the ocean has slowed way down, the CO2 levels are close to the same as the last warming period in the inter-glacial cycle chart. About time to toggle I would say. The trigger is in the geoid, probably not in the CO2
but more CO2 might step up the pace a bit.

Can't find one study on when the geoid will fill, but then, no one is issuing grants for this sort of study. It probably is as simple as that. A logical Architect is not deciding where to spend the money, politics does that function.
Scientist study what they are funded to study.

It is striking to me, when I notice how close to precision the design of our planet is while looking for clues about climate change.
How close to the perfect level our oceans are, to make this pump work, to continue to cycle though the millennia. Perfectly designed for humans and our companions live and thrive.

I happen to know Carol. I'm not saying her take is disingenuous, but what I will say is that it seems that her goal is to get on Fox. She's got their take down, that's for sure.

Dunno!
Want to fill me in?

About all I know is the matter was here. Where and form, I haven't a clue.

We're still ADDING CO2 to the atmosphere, and you're conpletely disregarding the cumunalitive affect.

This is silly.

Even if we were all to disappear, it would still go on. Right? Lightning strikes, no fire fighters, plant decay and ...

I need to understand the geoid first.

I was having trouble with that too. After a bit of internet research, I found this image that helped:

It was a typo. Should have been "ge-oink".

This is so stupid. Don’t scare the kids, just be quiet and get over it. If we pretend things are fine they will be fine. So dumb.

Things are finer than they have ever been for children, and it takes some extremely evil people to create fear in the hearts of children in order to attain political power. Sick, dangerous people.

Since when does a realtor in LaPine know more about climate change than a UN panel put together to study the effects of climate change. Simple answer, the realtor doesn't know more

PS- notice I used a link rather than paste the complete article to take up massive space on S2. I bet very few people ever read your posts. Mainly because there is no original thought in your posts. Just cut and paste.

Actually I would have expected him to blame the low life like the one who highjacked this thread.
But I perhaps your synonym is close enough.

Hijacked? where did they take it to? any ransom requested?. :biglaugh:
