Clingan’s conditioning

Welcome to our community

I think ideally we'll pick up a good small ball C so we can dictate the matchups and this will be a moot point. The small ball guy and Clingan will platoon at about 24 minutes a piece and be able to give it everything they've got during their time on the court.

Camara just defended Jokic yesterday as well as anyone has.

You just don't get it and are acting like your Schultzy moniker - I KNOW NOTHING, yep when it comes to this you do know nothing
Dude, I stated a 20 year old kid should have more stamina. Then got attacked for me saying he should be a polished NBA player. Then someone brought up stats, which was never my observation. You fucking soccer moms need to relax

This sounds exactly like the logic a certain GM used to trade Luka for jack.

20 rebounds, 17 pts, multiple blocks? He's out of shape, don't want to extend someone like that!
Again, his stats have nothing to do with him not being in great shape…..or appearing that way, anyway. Him getting lost on defense, committing silly fouls, not having a post move or even him plodding and not being athletic have nothing to do with him seemingly STILL not being in good enough shape to play more minutes consistently for a 20 year old kid

Clingan is 2nd on the team in defensive rating and DBPM behind Timelord (who hasn't really played enough to count). Clingan's defensive rating is 6.5 points better than the team and his DBPM is 1.5 points better than the team. Meaning the time he has spent "lost on defense" is less that any other player on the team

granted, those defensive metrics tend to favor bigs and C/PF's but Clingan isn't the only Blazer who plays C/PF

if you want to say he's plodding, fine. Or that he's really only suited for drop coverage, that's fine too; but we all knew that when he was drafted. Slow footed? OK. Slow reacting? nope. Because if he was truly a slow reaction big, he wouldn't be essentially leading the league in offensive rebounding and blocked shots. Those two things require effort and reaction

It’s because your posts are fucking garbage, each one no matter the subject.

You sure would be fun to hang out at a party with…that’s if anyone even invites you in the first place lmao.

You're painting this as awful, when in fact, it's amazing. What you're really saying is that DC is thriving even though his game has many flaws. However, most of the flaws you cite are fixable. So, year 2, he'll be fantastic, year 3 he will be ridiculously amazing! WABC for the freaking win!

Still wondering what this has to do with the thread title

I don’t care about his flaws. He’s a smart kid who has a great basketball IQ. ALL I SAID WAS HE ISNT IN GREAT SHAPE, AND ITS CONCERNING THIS FAR IN THE SEASON. Then all you bat shit crazy soccer moms attacked me saying he’s doing so great 17/20 is great. Who the fuck said it was t???

so what you are saying is 17 and 20 isnt great. right?

Unfortunately, that left no one to guard Murray

Sure, but how often is there a center as dominant as Jokic, plus a red hot shooter like Murray to deal with? The point was simply that Camara showed he can play small ball center against the best center in the game, so he's more than capable of it in most other match-ups. His ability to cover multiple players within the same action allows the defense to be unpredictable when he doesn't have to focus on one player like Jokic.

what are you gauging his conditioning by....his facial expressions? Gauging by that Jokic is near collapse half of the time. Are you timing his 40 yard sprint? Counting his heart rate?

I'm gauging more by results because it's less subjective. His total rebounding rate is 22.7% which is better than Sabonis's league leading 22.2%. His offensive rebounding rate is 18.5% which is a lot more than Kessler's 16.4%. His Blocked shot rate of 8.8% is 2nd only to Wemby at 10.1%. Assuming he had enough minutes to qualify without significantly sacrificing rate's he'd either lead the league or be top-2 in all those gauges

he just played a 31 minutes in a game at mile elevation and had 20 rebounds, 10 on offense, 3 blocks, and shot 7-12, going against a 3 time MVP. I seriously doubt he could do that if he was in bad shape

I've said a couple of times in this thread that the best way to get in game-shape is to consistently get lots minutes in lots of games. Billups hasn't allowed him to do that

Not sure if you been reading stuff here lately, but it’s a handful of people like that, always bitching and complaining about something. I guess it’s the “Portland” thing to do.

This is hilarious!!!

guy calls other posters lemmings, cusses in the OP with a dramatic post and has no clue why he gets the responses he gets and proceeds to call everyone else soccer moms for blasting him!
some people just need to stay out of the damn kitchen.

And i used to want to be part of the “cool club” around here. LOL!

I know why. I’m just having fun

I agree with what Wizen said cause he needs to after the AS break start getting 25 to 30 min per game and if he does not then someone at Blazer HQ needs to be fired - -Period

Now with Ayton out for a month ( thank god ) he will prolly get this but even if Ayton was healthy I would still be saying this too.
