Clippers Agree in Principle with Neil Olshey

Not surprised that he used the Blazers to get a new contract with the Clippers.

We waited too fucking long.....like a year too fucking long.

Paul Allen didn't want the best candidate

He was using us to get a contract

It's one of those

Quick did mention that they keep changing their minds and all are not on the same page with the candidates.

**Waits for Orlando to announce the hiring of Mike Malone**

"We knew he wanted to go with the Clippers. He wasn't our first choice"

Chad is gonna end up with this job, which is a joke

At this point I've already accepted that as the outcome.

Apparently the Magic are interviewing Pippen for the head coaching position. Interesting.

I wonder if Paul Allen reached out to Phil Jackson and that is why he turned down the Magic??

It was reported he turned it down to pursue another NBA front office job. Not sure why it would be us? Maybe GM/coach?

because in the world we live in, horses fly and cats crap gold.

Sam Vincent (who tried to get Jackson in Orlando) said Phil doesn't want to coach anymore.

It is interesting though.....Maybe Jordan wants to hire him in some capacity?

IDK, seems interesting though that Olshey signed with the Clippers today. Either he used us for leverage, we are getting close to hiring (Morway?) or Phil Jackson has caught Pauls attention.

He's a name but does he have the ability to find talent and put together a winning team? Hard to fathom but he's probably less qualified as a GM than our college scouts.

Why? Red Auerbach's and John Wooden's love child couldn't win with this Blazer team.

Not talking about coaching? Jackson doesn't want to coach, sounds like he wants to be a GM.

Or the Blazers are Clown Town, and nobody worth anything would touch Kolde's Krazy bunch without being vastly overpaid?

He's never been a GM, and he wasn't at all responsible for getting any of the 4 Hall of Fame players he coached.

So? Doesn't mean he doesn't have the knowledge or know how to do it. The guy has been around the NBA for years and is one of the higher regarded people in basketball.

Jerry West, Larry Bird, Danny Ainge etc seem to have done OK.

FUCK. He was definitely the candidate I wanted. Oh well, hopefully we can land Morway now. I'm personally even fine with CB, the only person I don't like is Bowers. I think a lot of people on this board place too much blame on CB for the drafts and such when it is not entirely his fault.

Babbitt was KP's last pick, and the rumor has been on this board that not taking Faried was a key part in making the Felton deal. The FA deals he made were also pretty damn good considering what had happened as the season began and what we needed. A good vet bigman in Kurt and scoring to replace BRoy in Jamal. Looking back, this season just did not work out the way it was supposed to go and CB & Co. made the right moves to set us up for summer.

Anyone want to take a stab in the dark of Larry Miller's response?

"fuck, we really wanted him, but that damn genius donald sterling outsmarted us again"

POR front office\mgmt is among the WORST in professional sports....

Some of you guys crack me up. Maybe the Clippers made him a better offer than the Blazers. Maybe he played the Clippers using the Blazers. Maybe the Blazers had already decided that he wasn't the guy that they wanted and told him so, so he took an offer to remain with the Clips. Who the hell knows, but jumping to the conclusion that the Blazers screwed up again is just a knee jerk reaction based on nothing more than your suppositions.

Nice post!

I guess we'll have to settle for Phil Jackson then.

Then Phil will hire Brian Shaw to coach for him.

Then Phil and Shaw will talk D-Will into signing with us.

Then D-Will will talk D-Howard into forcing a trade to us.

This is going to suck.

Fucking Blazers.

Phil as GM and Shaw as coach. For some reason I actually really like that idea.

lol, and here comes the Blazers #1 apologist again to defend Allen & co....Sure, everything's normal...just like any other franchise out there....

1 year + without a GM? Yeah that is typical...just standard operating procedure for a franchise that is FUBAR...Other teams are laughing thier ass off at the ineptness of POR right now

Keep clinging to that Phil Jackson pipedream people, I'll believe it when I read\hear it

Oh yeah and the "interim GM" is either one of the worst judges of talent or the biggest fucking pussy of a GM in the NBA...Take your pick, either way as fans were still fucked...

Maybe next year at this time they can interview Bower for the 3rd time....lol

I'd be careful with Phil for a few reasons. As already mentioned, he wasn't responsible for finding all the great players he had, he got the best out of them. Also if I was the coach of his team I'd be worried about him pulling a Pat Riley on me whenever the team became a contender and ousting me so that he can get another ring.

Nice to have at least 1 guy look on the bright side were you/MM/Fez are about as cheery when it comes to the Blazers management as a homeless man looking through the window at a 5 star restaurant. You guys have about as much knowledge of whats happening in the organization as e_blazer does and yet you like to take every opportunity to point out that you think management stinks and make fun of posters who think maybe management isn't as stupid as you think they are. All this assumptions that is happening is all opinions since none of us can actually be in the war room or have in depth conversations with those in management.

Phil Jackson seems like an intelligent guy, but we don't really know if he has a nose for talent or not. He happened to have 2 superstars on his roster most of his career, and he bailed on his teams once he saw them leaving.
