It's finally here!!!! In one hour's time The Washington Huskies will play the Alabama Crimson Tide for a chance to play for the National Championship. This tide team is being lauded as 'one of the best teams ever' and 'experts' across the country are giving the Huskies NO CHANCE of winning and in fact are going to be steamrolled by the juggernaut that is Alabama.
What do I have to say about all that? There are going to be a lot of shocked and disappointed 'experts' when all is said and done because The Washington Huskies are going to shock the universe and 'upset' The Alabama Crimson Tide and punch their ticket to Tampa.
Here are a couple of keys to an Huskies win;
1.) Stop Alabama's rushing attack. The Tide's running game is not that special but it's the running game that aides in Alabama's quarterback, Jalen Hurts ability to get out of the pocket and scramble and extend the play for big plays.
2.) Keep Hurts' in the pocket and force him to beat you. Despite Alabama's record, Hurts is still a rookie and if Washington can get pressure and make him uncomfortable in the pocket and get Hurt's to tap dance in the pocket, the rookie will make a mistake or two. The Huskies need to be alert and aware and capitalize on those mistakes when they happen.
3.) Play an uptempo quick-strike offence. The Tide has won the majority of their games due to their suffocating defense, this is due to Saban being allowed to make line changes(I know this isn't the right term but I am blanking right now.) to keep his big lineman fresh. Washington needs to quicken the pace offensively and stop this from happening. Keep those big lineman on the field at all costs. This will tire the defense out and will make them more susceptible to giving up big plays rushing the ball and deep plays down the field to Pettis and Ross down the field for touchdowns and a Husky win.
What I want to see Washington do if the Huskies start the game with the ball;
On the very first play of the game, go deep to Ross and Pettis for a big play or touchdown. Let Alabama know right away what they are in for and expose their defense to start the game.
What I want to see Washington do if the Crimson Tide start the game with the ball;
Force a three and out on Alabama's first drive. Get pressure on Hurts' and make him uncomfortable right away.
Final score;
Washington Huskies- 38
Alabama Crimson Tide- 31
@BonesJones, @The Professional Fan would like to hear your critiques as well as any other Huskies fan I may have forgotten.
