Notable:

Everybody knows. Everyone seems to have an idea of what Portland Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard should do. How and when Blazers owner Paul Allen should act. The exact time that Allen should pull the trigger. The exact moment that Pritchard should give in, give up and walk away.

So, in honor of all the finger-on-the-pulse experts and perfect prognosticators, here’s an absolutely crazy, unbelievably off-the-wall idea: do not quit, Kevin.

Do not give in. Do not give up.

If the Blazers are going to fire you, make them.

Do not resign. Do not sign anything. Do not walk away...........

.................But don’t just take my word for it.

“Getting rid of Pritchard is the front-office equivalent of cutting Roy,” said Portland resident Brian Libby, a longtime Blazer fan whose online petition supporting Pritchard has gathered almost 1,000 signatures. “If the Blazers let KP go, it will be the first time in my 38 years of rooting for the team that I will seriously consider abandoning them.

“I never wavered one second as a Blazer fan when Rasheed Wallace was threatening referees, or when Damon Stoudamire was arrested for marijuana possession. But if Pritchard is shown the door, I may be ready to turn in my red-and-black pinwheel.

Brian Libby is a fucking idiot.

Because he has zero idea as to what KP did or didn't do that caused him to fall out of favor with PA.

So what? He's seen what KP has done with this team......and likes the results. If he sees KP getting the axe....without any apparent reasoning therein.....it's certainly his prerogative to quit supporting the team. Doesn't make him an idiot.

I don't know about abandoning the team but I will have my doubts about this teams future if we do get rid of KP....You don't get rid of a top 5 player....why get rid of a top 5 GM?

For a Top 4 GM or b/c he did something outside of the "Culture"?

Your REAL given name is BGrantFan?

Pritchard wants only players within the 25-point culture, and now, for shame with a big tisk tisk tisk, he has broken one of the tenets himself. Begone, to the foggy circular zone outside our culture, where he will live out his days foraging with the wolves while I zoom in and keep him and the villagers from dying!

On a parallel note, I have an idea for a cool new video game!

Why's that?

I would say, because by his/her own admission rape, wife beating, dog fighting et al did not cause him/her to abandon the team but firing a GM, for reasons that may or may not be valid (we just don't know) would? I mean, I think KP has done a very good job but I still don't go to games to admire his clothing.

And of course we also don't know if he/she signed his/her real name or a pseudonym. As for not using real names, all of us here are in the same glass house.

I hope KP and his staff have a kick ass draft, make a great trade or two, and make it real hard for Vulcan to fire him.

good article whether or not you agree with libby

Brain T. Smith scores again

Yea, because if he waits until the Blazers fire him, he can get $400 of unemployment a week!:devilwink:

Actually it does.

He loves the team for decades - through thick and thin.
He is happy with the recent improvement of the team.
He claims he will abandon his team after all this time, and during a "good" period, if the team parts ways with the GM.
Why doesn't he wait to see if there was a good reason?
Why doesn't he wait to see if the team declines first?
Why doesn't he wait to see if the team makes good moves without the Golden Boy?

Yep, he is an idiot.

You're the dude accusing Pritchard of calling Raef's contract the "Golden Ticket", right? You also accused him of saying that Raef's contract would bring as "cornerstone player", right?

Links? Still waiting, Masbee.

Over the years, many pro owners have gotten rid of their GMs without announcing why. Only Portland fans and media act like big babies about it.

Stop the tantrum, grow up, and stop threatening to desert your team, Libby.
