THe power supply you need depends on what you have inside the computer. If you have multiple disk drives and a powerful graphics card, you probably need a bigger one.

The WATTs of your power supply is likely on a label on the back of your computer (on the power supply). Make sure you get one the same power or more.

are you a gamer wheels? do you have a higher end video card in your setup

and like somebody else said earlier...build your own computer. Its not hard

Agreed Denny, always go a lil big on power supply, supposedly the off brand ones exaggerate the amount of power by 20-25% "they" say

Wheels evidently just want to stare at the thread but not post anymore

I own MACS, so I have NO idea what any of you are talking about right now.

not sure on wattage lol. Its a basic PC I got refurbished from Tiger Direct a few years ago. I dont do much gaming at all on it. Just internet, and Music and Streaming TV over an HDMI cable. My wife played the Sims on it before so I assume she might be into the new one on it. And I played Rome Total War but thats as advanced as gaming gets. It does have an extra internal hard drive which probably wont make a difference on the wattage right? Thanks again for the info on Power Supplies guys!

Everything will make a difference. Graphics card, harddrive, CPU, fans, CD drive, external drives... 500W should be more than enough.
