Congrats, Dame!

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Westbrook was hurt for much of KD’s mvp year.
Im aware but the guy is a really good basketball player does he have his faults yup! Just think saying he doesnt belong in the asg when his team is winning and he putting up those numbers is off.

I'm sorry... Maybe I'm missing something or just being callous but...

You don't whine when you get snubbed... You:

Now why are we letting Rudy's emotions ruin Dame's congratulations thread?
So I agree it seems weird the dude is crying and all that. I dont agree with the guys mocking him for it though. People have different reactions to things, I think Dame had the respectful response.

Also you’re right this is about Dame being an all star and Im happy about that! Though I do selfishly enjoy his scorched earth post asg snub performances.

Way to go Dame! He joins former Blazers Wicks, Aldridge, and Drexler as the only Blazers with 4 or more appearances

C Drexler, 8
D Lillard, 4
L Aldridge, 4
S Wicks, 4
M Lucas, 3
B Roy, 3
B Walton, 2
T Porter, 2
R Wallace, 2
J Paxson, 2
K Duckworth, 2
G Petrie, 2
C Robinson, 1
L Hollins, 1
K Washington, 1
S Johnson, 1

Now only 5 more appearances for Dame until he passes Drexler!

Drex has the 92 Olympic team as a higher honor...……….I was hoping another Blazer could have been on that team like JK or TP. Pippen got there with Jordan.

Remember Dame's post snub game?

Man, I was watching some rookie Lillard highlights and this vid just reminds me of how his game has evolved. Dame relies on his speed so much less now, its not that he used to be quicker its just that hes made the game so much easier for himself to get his every night. Its a good thing for how he will age as a player

Man, look at the AS in the west, then in the east.... The east is trash.

and wrote letters to Adam Silver.

Link? Never heard about a letter silver.

And no it's not the same thing.

Show me one fucking rap that talks about an all star snub...no

Again, put this Rudy crybaby shit in the all around the NBA thread.

I think he deserves every bit of shit talking he gets. Man up and use it as motivation.

You can't always get what you want. Crying about it doesn't bring it into fruition.

Squaring your shoulders and attacking life does.

Here's the thing:

For the most part you can choose how you feel about things. But sometimes it's really hard to do that. Him choosing sadness is one thing.

The actions afterward can ALWAYS be chosen.

So, for him to choose crying and saying dumb shit like it's a "disrespect to the game" that he wasn't chosen, makes me have NO sympathy for his tears.

Just because he cried doesnt mean he wont man up and get after it. They arent mutually exclusive. So what, he was emotional shortly after something happened. This is the one year anniversary of my brother dying (I got the phone call at 8:10am on 2/3/18). I cried a couple days after, didnt mean I wasnt going to man up and go take care of his business... I realize that someone dying and an all star game isnt the same.
My point is that we all have emotions and sometimes they get the best of us, theres still plenty of time for him to go prove he deserved it. Also having times of emotional “weakness” doesnt keep one from squaring there shoulders and attacking life.
I absolutely get the criticism that his teams success should mean way more than his ASG appearances and that his values seem off from a fan perspective, but heck he can value and have emotional investment in whatever he wants. I mean I find his reaction to not being voted in strange yes, and Im glad Dame reacted differently but I dont know, I find it hard to attack someone for being emotional.

This is clearly a perspective thing. No one should be ashamed of getting emotional when discussing one's family or being emotional/disappointed that hard work hasn't paid off. Clearly he knows how to square his shoulders and fight. He's an NBA player and from France of all places! Hard work and an extraordinary amount of confidence has gotten him to this point...

The idea of saying he "choose" to cry when he's talking about his mother and all the disappointment is some jaded, robot shit, man. You alright?

It does kind of suck to be deserving of recognition of a personal accomplishment like that and to not get it. It also hurts that he lost a $1 million bonus. I'd be pissed too if I deserved to get a $1000 bonus and someone less deserving was nominated for some work related thing instead.

I really don't care if he cried or not. I don't like people making fun of him for it though. Everyone handles things differently. Sure the better response would be to let his play do the talking but there is nothing preventing him from doing that still now that he cried. I don't think he deserves the comments from idiot whiners like Draymond Green.

The Rolling Stones did a song about this I think.

Guys let's not act like I'm saying crying is weak and men shouldn't do it. I'm not saying anything like that.

But crying over "not making all stars" reminds that whiny kid we wanted our kid to grow out of.

He said some outlandish shit.

Disrespect to "him, the organization, the fans, the game"??

And please... Let's not let this be the narrative:

The idea of saying he "choose" to cry when he's talking about his mother and all the disappointment is some jaded, robot shit, man. You alright?

He said his mother caught him crying....

So no, I don't have much sympathy for the guy that cries to his mother when things don't go his way...

I wonder what they did with the old early 80's White Sox uniforms that were just as bad.

.... And I wonder what happened to Lamar Hoyt, the CY Young winning pitcher too. He got kicked out of the league cause he couldn't stay off the
cocaína.

Here is what happened to the old Sox uni's.

And this is why boys and young men bottle up their emotions until they cant any longer, and then they explode.

What a load of crap.

Bullies have been making fun of people's emotions for how many decades? It was done to me. GTFO with this...

Due to their egos expectations, I mean ET knows he's an excelent player, Draymond should be more priced for what he's doing for GS and IT MVP caliber player, their tweets seem to be bit emotional as well.

Well you talk to me with less and less respect each day. Not even gonna argue this with you.

This is the very core of the bullying problem. One person gets bullied and responds by bullying the next in line.

Pretend like I'm right next to you saying it, with my normal vernacular.

Is it offensive or disrespectful now bones? C'mon... Had we been in each other's presence and you heard my inflection, you wouldn't be taking offense to it. It's very tongue in cheek.

Lighten up a bit.

It's really just ribbing that people are making like it's over the top because of "The Donkey".

When humans are babies, we cry for every single thing we need. That's normal. However, a good parent coaches that shit out or deals with it forever.

Rule: You don't get what you cry for.

That's a hard and fast rule in my home. You whine for something you get the opposite of what you whine for.

You reward your kid with what they want when they whine and cry for it and you'll have a whiny crybaby for a kid.

Explains a lot about our posters, here.

(I kid. Don’t shoot me, FAMS!)
