One championship down, one to go. I'm not a seahawk fan but I knew they'd crush denver. I'm happy for our owner. Maybe now that he got a taste of winning he'll pay what ever it takes for an NBA title.

There's a superbowl thread in the OT section.

Re: congrats paul allan

He's been paying whatever it takes for the Blazers for a long time.

Without money greasing our trades, this would be a dried up prune of a team, like the impoverished Sonics were in their last decade.

Congrats PA, Russell Wilson, Pete Caroll and the 12th man! Winning culture breeds winning. And cheers to the championship in Rip City talk.

Seahawks won and Richard Sherman got hurt... so I guess it's win/win.

I'm really happy for Paul Allen, you just know that he's going to get so excited after finally winning a title that he will go $200 million over the NBA salary cap, buy us Lebron and a few other players.

Re: congrats paul allan

I hope they have some type of brief acknowledgement for Paul at a Blazer game soon. It is nice that he experiences the ultimate success after all these years.

Re: congrats paul allan

Congratulations to Paul Allen for being both rich and lucky. Congratulations to Warren Buffett for the same reason.

Re: congrats paul allan

Just killed any chance the Blazers had to win the title this year.

No way the league allows a billionaire to win 2 major sports titles in a year. It would look too shady.

But us being in the finals would be great for them, with the media hype, as long as we lost.

Re: congrats paul allan

Congrats, Uncle Paul!

I bet a Paul Allen designed super bowl ring is going to be amazing. Probably have lasers that shoot out of it and will transform into a Smart car at the push of a button. "Super Bowl Ring... more than meets the eye"

(BTW rasheedfan, I edited the title. Normally I don't care about spelling, but the dude deserves his name spelled right tonight. ;) )

The hilarious part is that Peyton set the record for completions in a super bowl... Do the interceptions count?

And the whatever wide out guy for Denver had the most completions in a super bowl... and they got fucking torched.

This.

I could very well see him even more than normal to tell these guys to go for it...this year.

And before we say it's that far fetched. Let's look at who the best in the west is right now. It's OKC. When it comes to the season series, I feel we have been the better more dominant team. I think we match up very well with them. If Neil can do something to get something out of this bench. I think this group has a chance.

Oh..and congrats PA. You truly do deserve it. You're a a good owner. You've been through a ton and lost a ton. It's about time you got something back.

Here's a great video recap of going from the Holmgren era through Jim Mora and Pete Carroll. I haven't watched all of them yet but the first two are great!

If this has been posted before sorry. But it's great what Paul Allen was able to build.

Will Paul now impress upon Stotts that defense wins championships and all the flashy offense in the world doesn't often get you to your goal? Is asking that the Blazers at least be in the top half too much?

They are certainly more fun to watch than under Nate (defense was bad then too) but now that the schedule has toughened up and teams are starting to play with more intent, they are looking quite average.

At least one of Paul Allen's teams knows how to play defense!
At least one of Paul Allen's teams knows how to play with a lead!
