What an accomplishment!!! Amazing, really, when you put it all in perspective. Commissioner!! WOW!!!! So totally impressive. Does he get a gold throne at the next Meet and Greet that ABM is putting together?

So super excited for NateBishop03.

Does this mean he won't lurk under his NathanB alias anymore? :dunno:

Also, did he actually lobby for this honor? How was this bestowed to him over an actual decent moderator like SPD?

I'm not sure if you are looking for a serious answer but here it goes.

TrueBlueFan put up an ad in the S2 secret staff forum looking for Commissioners for the NBA, NFL and NHL.

Here is part of it:

SportsTwo has made some great progress and will continue to make great strides in the coming weeks/months/years. However, to reach our goals we need to continue to evolve. One thing we have noticed is that there is a need for individuals to be more than Global Moderators and to have more authority to use their abilities and resources to help make SportsTwo great.

With the multifaceted approach of SportsTwo, in terms of news, user forums, wiki, blogs, article writing and custom games and software for all major sports, we need individuals who are willing to step up to the plate and help lead a portion of the site. This is where the Commissioner position comes into play.

The role of the Commissioner would be to be the leader and manager of a particular section of the site. A Commissioner would have the authority, responsibility and accountability for running their portion of the site. This includes:

- Organizing/Recruiting/Managing the site staff of your section (this includes Moderators and Global Moderators). As the leader and manager of your section, you will be responsible for that portions of the site staff. This includes the recruitment and the accountability to make sure that your moderators are doing their jobs.

- Being responsible for the activity of your section of the site. This includes leading recruitment drives, boosting your posting numbers, getting new members, game threads and just overall improve the activity of your particular section. We totally recognize that some sections are starting out larger than others but our eventual goal is to have team forum communities much like our Nets community. We recognize that won't happen overnight but we are shooting for consistent progress.

As a leader and manager of your section, this means that you will be leading your moderators to help recruit posters, etc. We don't expect you to do it by yourself and that is what your team (and the S2 staff team) in general is used for.

- Developing the wiki content for your section. We believe the wiki can become a great tool not only for the S2 users, but also as a recruiting tool. This does not mean that you have to create the content yourself, but to manage your staff and posters to create and update the content.

- Identify and encourage potential staff writers and graphic artists. We want our writing program to be a significant attraction for the site as well as a source of pride for our posters. Also as the site gets larger, not everyone may see the graphics forum so getting skilled artists to interact with the other artists on the site.

- Promotions. You name it we can do it. If you want to do a rotisserie game, we can make that happen. As the Administrators we want to equip you to lead your section and help make it the best that it can. You come up with the games and we will try our hardest to implement them. The sky is the limit

Overall, this is a position of great responsibility and we really feel each of you would be a great leader on this site.

As you can see this is a hell of a lot of work.

First, let me say that Nate is an excellent choice for this. He has blog writing experience and he is very knowledgeable with all of the NBA. Also while you may not personally like Nate it's good that we have a Blazer fan first in this position. The last thing the Blazer forum needs is some outsider telling us posters and mods what to do.

As far as me in this position, thanks for the kind words but there is no way I was interested.

First, that's a hell of a lot of work.

Second, I don't really give a fuck about other NBA teams or getting more people to post in those forums.

3rd, Wiki what? Write what?

4th, I suck at being a mod, I'd really suck at being a Commissioner.

5th, did I mention that it looks like a hell of a lot of work?

Even if I did apply (which I didn't) Nate would be the better choice.

Attaway to tell off the boss!! <high five>

If I'd shown my bosses that much ambition, I would have gone somewhere!

LOL! That's not telling Denny and TrueBlueFan off, that's just being honest and not accepting (or even applying for) a position that I'm not interested in. I enjoy S2 and hope it grows huge, I just don't want to be the one trying to grow it outside of the Blazer forum.

Almost, and I said almost, looks like you're sucking up to Denny.

6th. This post is way too long and I had to take a nap in the middle. Just my 2 cents.

Somebody needs to have a stronger work ethic. I don't envy you during the next moderator personnel review. Denny is going to take you to task.

I get the same feeling halfway through his posts, but then I realize it's just a fly on my nose and I let it do its business.

Can you believe the way Sly ripped into Denny and what's his name? Do you think he'll be back next season?

I think Kim Hughes took the assistant coach job because he perceives Sly as vulnerable. There will always be a job for Sly in this organization as long as there's the slightest chance of HCP repairing his backup lawn mower.

I better not joke. Sly is the best thing this board has going. Give him a raise, Denny. One extra under-the-table gift.

First you kick his butt, then you kiss his ass. For crying out loud, make up your mind. As for me, I think Sly didn't get the job because of his agent.

Does NateBishop3 even post here anymore since his big promotion?

My bad.

Apparently he only posts in game threads on the Oregon Ducks' board since the big promotion.

Sorry, I was at the game again and just got home. Nate, thank you for your PSU insight on the Ducks. Those of us with season tickets thank you for your expertise, because I can't see the things you see from home.

Frank Burns strikes again.

Wait a minute, you get home from the game and your first thought is of Nate?

Checked this board, read a few things, saw NateBishop's name in bright red letters on the top of the board as being online, and then wondered where the commissioner was, since he never posts here anymore. Guess he was just lurking? :dunno:

Where did you get that my first thought was of NateBishop03?
