Are there a lot of instructional DVDs to learn these skills now or is it mostly on the job training?

Our association (in the first 4 years) requires a once a week class. However, on the job training is the only way to get better. Get the fuck out there and do it over and over and learn how to blow the whistle. We take a test every year. To become playoff eligible, a referee must get 90% or above on the test.

Eventually we'll just replace the refs with a computer and adjust the difficulty slider accordingly.

I disagree completely. Every sport will always have human referees IMO. I don't see that changing. Replay however, will be used much more.

I'll start with this bullshit call:

LOL at "explosive"!

@riverman This is the Bavetta call I was talking about. I have previous post about it in a flopping thread. I'm sure someone can dig up that thread. I just don't have time at work. ;)

We need a message board party with food provided by the Blazers.

We can call it "Cheetos and Mountain Dew Night at a venue that is NOT Your Mom's Basement"

We need to amp up pregame discussion with more in-depth analyses of our opponets, how we match up agianst them and such.

"Hey bros, we're reporters covering the Blazers"

We should have a new picture every game where everyone here writers there own caption. Then the best out of them are voted on.

What would be interesting would be if someone (not me) summarized a game thread with interesting quotes and observations from the game.

Looks to me like Griffin pushed him with his left hand/arm.

Ask yourself this:

Was the push marginal contact?

Did he push to and through the defender?

If the answer to either of these questions is no and you it is easy to determine if the player embellishes contact.

Sure and that has lots to do with it. But that's not the only thing. Simple positioning corrections would clear up a lot of the flops.

Assuming the refs *want* to call the flops correctly... yes?

I really enjoyed blazercaravans small sample size theater or whatever it was called. And slys game recaps when he went were great as well.

Anyone that goes to a game and can give first hand info and observations I can vicariously live through are cool for me. Maybe a season ticket holder can put something together like that?

I definitely want to do that again; I hope I can carve out the time this year to do more than a couple!

We should have a "Airing of Grievances" Thread around Festivus Time. Then hire a hot model to read it on youtube. Page views, son.

Sly keeps pitching an idea for a show where he takes each Blazer dancer out on a date, but the team doesn't like the idea for some reason.

Psst... the last of those Blazer dancers have finally retired from the team. I'm cleared for landing with this year's team.
You could probably borrow Howard Stern's Fartman costume for the landing

I didnt read the whole thread so sorry if this is a repost

ref tracker. we track which refs make which shit calls and prove that the league is against us. we present the report to adam silver and force him to admit he's Stern's Darth Maul. then the rebellion begins. Hold on to your light sabers.
