Assuming the refs *want* to call the flops correctly... yes?

Yes. Assuming they do. I'm honestly not sure why they break these cardinal rules so frequently. If you look at Bavetta above, he's on the opposite side of the key. Based upon the cardinal rule "Focus on your primary", he shouldn't even be looking at that spot on the floor. He breaks another rule "Trust your partners" and reaches outside of his primary. The C has that play and he position adjusts to get his open look. He has what's called "1st right of refusal". Since he does not have a whistle on contact the only way dick Bavetta should call them out here is if something is egregious. Bottom line, Bavetta shouldn't even be looking toward that part of the key.

I am amazed this site has a content plan.

My impression was, it’s an internet potluck.

There's a reason he's named "Dick"........

Looked like a push from both angles in the video.

Of course he's a notorious flopper though.

But Denny players push all the time. Literally all the time.

It's a contact sport. What we have to understand is, all contact is not a foul. Marginal and incidental contact, via the rulebook, is not a foul. Does Blake Griffin make contact with the flopper? Yes slightly. Did that marginal contact create Harden's reaction? Hell no... The thing about it is, if you call foul on marginal contact, you have to call that marginal contact the entire game. Nobody likes ticky-tack foul calls. Do we want a basketball game or do we want to hear a whistle every single time a player is barely touched?

If you call out of bounds on this play that is the proper call. And, it sends a message to Harden that he's not going to get away with flopping tonight. He's a flopper so he may attempt to do it again but if you address it with the ignore button even he will be forced to self-correct.

Fine, but when a push changes the outcome of the play, like making a player go out of bounds, it should be called.

Can we share naked pictures of our wives?

Great idea!

Your turn!

It is. However as I explained that minute amount of marginal contact didn't cause Harden to go out of bounds. His embellishment of that contact did. The official who is policing his primary area PASSED on that contact. Bavetta reaches out of his primary, and with a TERRIBLE angle on the play, makes a horrible call. There's a reason Harden was fined for that play. My problem with it is the wrong person was punished.

The problem is that referees' unions prevent fans from d(v)issing referees who post on their sites. Boo, ref!

Here is improved content. Have many contests with Denny paying $64,000 to the winner of each contest.

I'm sure all those people you mentioned have access whenever they want it. With that said, they are writing about the NBA as a whole. Not one team. We want to provide coverage of one specific team. That's much harder to do without access to the players/coaches/front office.
BrianFromWA- you wrote great stuff last year. You didn't have access, did you? Just your eyes and the numbers, right?

Sure, anyone could write 2-3 articles a year with just an idea and the internet.

I cannot write for this lowlife publication of commoners, for I with all humility seek to pluck but an acorn from the upscale wisdom tree of which this board is not.
