Hey do you guys think we should get rid of taxes? I mean what's up? They are like so unfair. I'm sick of all these poor people and Mexicans living off my hard work.

I'm like the hardest worker and all these people are just living the dream off my hard work and they never work unlike my parents and grand parents who had it way so tough.

My other rich white friends and I were talking about it over a very expensive dinner last night. There was even a black guy in the restaurant (Asian wife) so it's not like we're racist. We like the good ones.

Health care and Obama's like a socialist probably huh?

Tea Party unite. Build the damn fence and we can go back to what it used to be like when we were allowed to be racist (against the bad ones) and shoot mexicans and everyone was rich.

Am I right?

In short: ABOLISH ALL TAXES. They are socialist. Mexicans out. Minorities stop beating us up (The bad ones) the good ones are fine. Give me more money (I'm the hardest worker cause I'm the richest)

it's not the hardworking legal Mexicans that are stealing tax dollars. It's the people who feel entitled to handouts. Taxes are fine where they are, in fact I'd probably raise them. But the budget should be balanced.
First, let's get rid of "life sentences without parole". They're a drain on society. If someone's guilty of something that gets them a sentence that will never allow them back into society, why not just execute them? Or put them into the American equivalent of a Siberian work camp? They shouldn't get 3 squares a day and an hour of recess for doing something that gets them "life without parole". They're not "entitled" to that.
Secondly, stop spending so much on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Raise the age limit, and start giving according to receipts. We only pulled in 780M or so in SS, Medicare/aid taxes this year, but gave out 1.1B. I just got a social security statement that says I'll "probably" get around 72% of my projected award. Let me have my part of my Social Security money and pay it into a Roth IRA. You can keep the rest to pay for the old people already in the program. People shouldn't be "entitled" to stop working at 62. Obviously, if you're already in it you should still get it. Start telling young people that they're not going to get Social Security, and that the SS Taxes they're paying are b/c their parents and grandparents bought them into the low end of the ponzi scheme, and to suck up the fact that they're paying for the mistakes of others. I'm fine with being the "accountability Generation".
Thirdly, stop spending so much on nation-building if it isn't our nation. If Nike can use foreign workers to make a shoe for 17 cents that costs $100 over here, then we should have Iraqis and Afghanis building roads and schools and infrastructure for pennies on the dollar, not at higher prices than they'd be in the States.
Fourth, a big fence is stupid. Just imprison trespassers. And sympathizers/accomplices.
Let's get back to where, if you didn't grow enough on your farm, and you didn't have a trade or have enough money to buy what you couldn't grow, and you'd pissed off your neighbors and people in the community so that they wouldn't give you money--your ass starved.

as a Welfare worker I will tell say the Majority (of my caseload at least) of people who are not working and just living off of the system. Are single white Males. The Hispanic caseload that I have is working 40-60 hours a week. The only times they are not working, is because of the weather. Even then, the undocumented people do not get Food Stamps or Cash, for themselves. The amount allotted is based on a prorated amount for the eligible members a family (for example a family of 5 who WOULD qualify for food stamps of $500.. but only has 1 documented child... would get $100 in Food stamps instead of the full allottment of $500)

So you can add half of a Mexican to who you would like to hear from ;)

First, I haven't read the entire thread so this may be redundant.

Taxes are a necessary thing to run the country. We have a government to pay, military to pay, judicial system, infrastucture to build and maintain... Where do you think the money will come from? Trees?

Now, that said, then the discussion of entitlments begins. Welfare, healthcare, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid... Are they necessary? Different people have different opinions on those things so taxes pay for those things as the government requires.

So taxes are necessary.

Now, here's a tid bit. About 15 years ago a study was done based on every known civilization that has existed throughout history and how taxes/fees related to the well being of the people and country. They determined that countries are at their best when total taxation (and fees) are about 12-14% and get worse as it gets higher. The point of "no return" when a civilization gets to a taxation above 20% as it leads to social issues and immoralities and the slope to the end of that nation begins. We're at about 24-26% now.

Food for thought.

Actually I do not. I read parts of it about 10 years ago. As I recall, it was a PHD project and it made a lot of sense. The bottom line is that when taxes get to a certain point to support social or military issues, it creates a set of problems that are a difinitive slippery slope that culminates to the end of that civilization. Nations with a more stable tax base fair much better. It also noted that too little taxation creates such a weak country that it also fails to hold on as such.

The speed boats would have been more beneficial to them before they got here. I'd like to raise taxes to pay for equipping every Mexican who wants to get here illegally with a speed boat.
