Arent you assuming a lot here, like what people will and wont do, and how scared they are or arent? Not saying you’re wrong but even if people today said they wouldnt do something that doesnt mean tomorrow they wouldnt change their minds.
I'm assuming this: the pandemic isn't over by a long shot and I'm assuming a big majority of people know that full-well, and aren't believing the tsunami of bullshit from right wing media and trump
I'm also assuming that the vast majority of Americans know that wearing masks and constant hand washing is smart, and it's smart because a consequence of not being smart is contracting a deadly illness that has no cure, no certain treatment, and no vaccine. I'm assuming that most people know that social-distancing and limiting exposure vectors to Covid is smart too. So is staying at home as much as possible
so yeah, I'm saying that not nearly enough people will be confident enough to go to restaurants and bars between now and 10 days from now to turn the economy around. Not nearly enough people will be confident enough to go to barbers or beauty shops or have dental hygienists flossing their teeth. People won't be flocking to movie theaters or crowding Saturday markets. People won't be ok sending their children to schools or day care facilities. It's simply way too early and the images of mass graves and morgues in refrigerated trailers and stories of doctors and nurses dying is too fresh in minds.
that's why I'm assuming you can't just wave a wand and force people to go back to normal. And why I'm questioning just what segments of the economy that are now shut down will magically go back to normal because trump desperately wants them too.
so no, people won't be changing their minds by "
tomorrow" (and I know you probably didn't mean that literally). Maybe they'll change them,
a little, by June 1 or July 1 if there's a real discernible massive drop in infections and mortality. But we need to get to a place like that first. And again, if we as a nation relax restrictions and there's a spike in new cases and deaths, the impact on the economy will be deadly. It will be worse than it is now, IMO
@wizenheimer, i must applaud your consistency.....
I'm usually only consistent for about an hour. You must have seen me at minute 3 and checked back at minute 54
either that or you're being sarcastic, which is always acceptable
