Trump?

Can Trump authorize such an action? I don't know the process here to enforce martial law within a city or state.

I do know some states faced lawsuits when threatened with merely identifying drivers from New York visiting.
Please, that has to be one of the worst dodges ever. Was Trump late in taking action or not?...of course he was, so again, my question to you is when should he have taken serious action instead of being in denial?

Its not a dodge, its a serious response to your question. In relation to New York/New Jersey, I'm not sure he had any authority to take the steps necessary to stop the outbreak without blowback from the local government.

You're talking about the whole coronavirus issue at hand, on the nationwide scale, which we beat to death already. Its a huge waste of fucking time.

Facts are coming in that 36% of the cases are concentrated in two states. Those regions are responsible for the spread across the United States, according to new data released today by the New York Times.

I'm tackling a certain, focused area of the United States.

Oregon appears to have implemented criteria for going through the gates and it appears to be working.
COVID-19 Weekly Report, May 5, 2020

Check out the case's by zip code.
I'd say we have as a State hit the 14 day decline in cases and hospitalizations. But certain area's are still more active than others and nursing homes represent over 50% of the deaths in this State.
According to zip codes, about 50 people in our neighborhood.

100% This. The President cannot force City or States to shut down or open.

But, pointing out facts is dodging....

not just dodging... the biggest dodge ever.....

Again.. Even if he DID have the power, why wouldn't we want shutdowns enforced based on regional issues? The needs of NY are not the same as the needs of ND....

The whole argument some are posing is just ridiculous first and not legal second.....

and they just added an additional 1,700 new deaths from nursing homes.

Yeah, my head is spinning

Can you accept, then, that Trump is handling this terribly? Not wearing masks, blaming all of it on others, his lack of response, and that's just the beginning.

There is equal blame to go around.

Good lord.

Why did this have to happen during the worst administration ever created (and fired, and fired, and fired, and fired, and fired, and fired, and fired, and stole, and lied, and lied, and lied, and embezzled, and lied, and went to jail, and went to jail, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and went to jail, and got impeached, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and stole, and stole, and stole, and stole, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and lied)?

In hindsight yes. It's very easy to look back and pick apart mistakes. All sides made some pretty big ones.

lol...it's only a waste of time to you because dropped the ball period...and yeah, I read the papers...NY/NJ have the most cases/deaths...in other news, water is wet and salt water is salty.

And yes, it is in fact a dodge on your part because you've still failed to acknowledge that Trump was weeks late in doing anything meaningful.

So in typical fashion, his followers deflect attention to something else.

I gave a date to impose harsh restrictions on the NY/NJ area, around March 15th when the cases spiked up.

What's your date? What is "anything meaningful"?

You are fishing for an answer which won't meet your personal standards of acceptability. Any answer I give, you're going to disagree with anyway. That's the definition of close-mindedness.

You're assuming how I will react to your answer if you'll ever FINALLY give it. And quit clouding up the question, because it was VERY simple;

Was Trump late in taking the virus seriously and taking action, yes or no?...see, I even made it simpler for you.

I'll answer even though it isn't related to the NY/NJ thing.

The answer is no.

He took bold action by China and European travel restrictions in the face of claims of xenophobia. Doubt anyone else would have been so bold to do so.
