Flattening the curve. At least that’s what I was told.

If the number of cases continue to rise daily, we are not flattening the curve.

Duh. Increased testing means increased cases. What a surprise.

And, if we stopped testing there would be no cases. Blah blah blah. It is a tired Trump argument. And, if he threw away his bathroom scale, Trump would no longer be obese.

I thought flattening of the curve encompassed not only positive cases but most importantly hospitalizations and deaths.
In Oregon we are way up on positives but it still remains 3% of all tested and currently ER visits and hospitalizations are down. Even the death rate is still low if you subtract the senior care centers initially hit hard.
I just listened to a doctor on MSNBC that said they two critical objective criteria are ER visits, Hospitalizations and deaths along with capacity.

It'll be interesting to revisit this come November or so. We all want the "optimists" to be right!!! In fact, I've never wanted to be wrong more!

It would be good to be wrong here. I want to be. But, logic vs fallacious claims....not looking good.

In Oregon yes

The rise in testing does not account for the rise in cases. Testing has only gone up a small percent in the last month, but the number of cases has risen exponentially higher.

No it’s attitudes like yours that is part of the problem. The virus isn’t going away so you don’t shut everything down forever out of fear. You track hospitalizations and deaths to gauge what the response should be. I submit that we are currently in good shape.
Umm, it's about the spike that is already upon us...but I'm the problem?...seriously?

Flattening the curve does no good if you take your foot off the gas. This is has been proven over the last 2 weeks.

That lame line didn't work for Trump either.
Are the hospitals in the US overwhelmed?
Heading in that direction, yes.

That means that you're not sure whether it's about the number of cases or not. You could have saved some debate if you had said that in the first place.
