Where did you hear that there is a growing shortage in testing supplies?
My dialysis doctor told me Thursday that there was a shortage which was the reason I cannot nor anyone get the test unless you show symptoms. The doctor got the test once every two days. Even our nurses cannot get the test and we are all in a unit where we are confined in one ward of the hospital with no private rooms.
As a side note, I'm on a blood thinner and have had several nose bleed problems only solved by going to the emergency room. My dialysis doctor said the test involves going way up the nose even farther than the MERS test and involves a bleeding risk for those on blood thinners.

Two more Trump staffers test positive for coronavirus after Tulsa rally

(CNN)Two staffers who attended President Donald Trump's rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday tested positive for coronavirus, Trump's campaign said Monday.

"After another round of testing for campaign staff in Tulsa, two additional members of the advance team tested positive for the coronavirus. These staff members attended the rally but were wearing masks during the entire event. Upon the positive tests, the campaign immediately activated established quarantine and contact tracing protocols," Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh told CNN in a statement.

The two positive tests, first reported by CNBC, bring the total number of Trump advance team staffers in Tulsa who tested positive for coronavirus to eight.

Hours before Trump's Saturday rally, the campaign said that six staffers working on the rally tested positive for coronavirus.

White House halts mandatory temperature checks, symptom screening

pretty near same experience my daughter had at portland kaiser couple nights ago. grandaughter went in with flu symptoms and a temperature of 103+ and they were not given the test nor would they administer one until she brought down the roof. good news is negative, she is at home and fever broke after peaking above number already stated and doing well. they told my daughter they weren't testing babies cause they have had 0 cases in her age group so far. not sure of the logic but am glad everyone doing well.

edit: in a near complete opposite experience, my wife had back surgery in honolulu this morning, tested before leaving big island, tested again last night in honolulu at hospital.

Two hair stylists with the coronavirus wore masks. So did their 140 clients. Of those tested, none got sick

In Missouri, two hair stylists who tested positive for COVID-19 after working in close contact with 140 clients and six coworkers. Local health officials feared it would be the start of a major outbreak.

But it wasn’t.

The reason? Employees and patrons at the Great Clips salon were required to wear masks, health officials said.

“The result appears to be one of the clearest real-world examples of the ability of masks to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus,” the Washington Post wrote this month. Local health officials are studying the details of the Springfield, Missouri, incident, including what types of face coverings were used and what other precautions were taken.

The fact that none of the exposed people became ill “is something we need to think about,” said Dr. Claudia Hoyen, director of pediatric infection control at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

“There are definite lessons we can learn from this,” Hoyen said. “This is a good example of why we all should be wearing masks.”

It's getting closer and closer.

Real talk time @EL PRESIDENTE, I'm worried about you.

If you get suicidal thoughts please, please, leave a note saying I can have your weird jersey collection.

Only true hoopsters will be able to rock the random jersey. You would probably be assaulted were you to rock a Chris Childs Knicks jersey.

With great power comes great responsibility

EU May Ban Travel from US as it Reopens Borders, Citing Coronavirus Failures

BRUSSELS — European Union countries rushing to revive their economies and reopen their borders after months of coronavirus restrictions are prepared to block Americans from entering because the United States has failed to control the scourge, according to draft lists of acceptable travelers seen by The New York Times.

That prospect, which would lump American visitors in with Russians and Brazilians as unwelcome, is a stinging blow to American prestige in the world and a repudiation of President Trump’s handling of the virus in the United States, which has more than 2.3 million cases and upward of 120,000 deaths, more than any other country.

European nations are currently haggling over two potential lists of acceptable visitors based on how countries are faring with the coronavirus pandemic. Both include China, as well as developing nations like Uganda, Cuba and Vietnam.

Travelers from the United States and the rest of the world have been excluded from visiting the European Union — with few exceptions mostly for repatriations or “essential travel” —- since mid-March. But a final decision on reopening the borders is expected early next week, before the bloc reopens on July 1.

A prohibition of Americans by Brussels partly reflects the shifting pattern of the pandemic. In March, when Europe was the epicenter, Mr. Trump infuriated European leaders when he banned citizens from most European Union countries from traveling to America. Mr. Trump justified the move as necessary to protect the United States, which at the time had roughly 1,100 coronavirus cases and 38 deaths.

In late May and early June, Mr. Trump said Europe was “making progress” and hinted that some restrictions would be lifted soon, but nothing has happened since then. Today, Europe has largely curbed the outbreak, even as the United States, the worst-afflicted, has seen more infection surges just in the past week.
