When you gut the system designed to prepare for things like this, and put people who don't believe in science in charge of Departments that NEED a fundamental background in science, the blame can only go in one direction.

That is certainly something you can ding Trump for. Still not sure that it would have made a difference in how CDC designed its test kits.
 
Rumors are trump may stop flights domestically as early as tonight.

Obama didn't say the problems were a hoax. He also did not say he had absolutely no responsibility.
The US could have used existing WHO tests but the administration wanted a US test, and I know from my experience in the industry what happens when you try to cut corners.
Trump ended the NSA and the NIH pandemic response teams.
He repeatedly lied about number of cases, severity, availability of testing, timeline for vaccine. And when challenged called reporters "nasty".

Go back and reread what I said, crandc. The ONLY pass I am giving Trump is not being responsible for CDC’s screwup with the design of the test kits. Virtually everything else has been a mess
 
Trump claims tremendous control over Coronavirus spread. Just like how he claimed it was going to just disappear as the weather warms.

Trump didn't even take notice of the coronavirus until after the stalk market starting acting up, he should have been moving on it way before then. Trump also defunded and and let posts lapse in the CDC and allowed them to go unfilled, even after being warned the problems that it would cause, yet he did it anyway. By the time Trump was done with the CDC it was now in less countries than it used to be, and made it more dangerous to the world, than it was before Trump meddled with it.

Fox, CNN and MSNBC are all the same, propaganda machines for the establishment. You will learn no more from one than you will from another. You might as well watch a Trump State of the Union address, you will find just about as much truth in each of them.

I listened to public health officers, doctors, virologists and governors of impacted states on MSNBC. Sure didn't hear that in state of the union. Your both sider-ism is looking like cover for Trump; he might be bad but alternative is as bad or worse.

Meanwhile on Earth I talked to my brother, they are all well. Not sure if he will host the Seder this year. We'll see how things are in a couple of weeks.

I have no way of knowing, but it’s certain that they started down one path, discovered a problem with one of the chemicals used and had to start over. You’re the scientist. How long would that delay production and delivery of millions of test kits?

It could be back to the drawing board, depending on what quality investigation shows, but my point is a test was available. They didn't need to reinvent the wheel.

That is very different from the political opinion shows each channel show regularly that spew corporate media propaganda. Hell, even I will turn on CNN to watch a real news event unfold. But only if I can't find another channel showing it. Beyond that, each channel tells you nothing more than lies.
 
It’s probably a matter of time before the governor announces the same closures of restaurants and bars in Oregon.
