I've read a couple of articles that so far the symptoms of the new variant are very mild.

wow...we just got back from Wife's orthopedic appointment for her total knee replacement and doc conveyed the hospital is without 40% of nursing staff from not taking vaccine. I asked him why and he didnt really comment other than it was very frustrating and that the nursing crews that are left are burnt out. They are limiting day surgeries to those that pass certain criteria.

From my standpoint, how is it that people that work in the medical field with doctors and specialist are reluctant to get vaccinated?

Recent polls show Republicans are now much less likely to get a flu shot than they were before the COVID-19 pandemic, indicating that the politicization of the coronavirus vaccines is bleeding over into the flu immunization.

In the years prior to the global pandemic, Republicans and Democrats were similarly likely to get an annual influenza shot, CNN recently pointed out. In a February 2020 AP-NORC poll, 58% of Democrats and 54% of Republicans said they'd gotten a flu shot in the past year.

This year, between 65 and 68% of Democrats say they have gotten or will almost certainly get a flu shot, while between 40 and 44% of Republicans said they have or will get vaccinated against the flu, recent polls show. A UC San Diego study published last spring found that Republicans had become less likely to say they'd get a flu shot during the pandemic. ​


Republicans just keep owning the libs by neglecting their health. I guess flu shots have suddenly become mind control vectors too.

Democrats may be winning the health war but when they die and look for a burial plot they will all be taken by Republicans - and who is going to be laughing then?

Because they know natural immunity is a real thing and lived through the thick of the pandemic just fine.

No. No they did not. They are trying to convince themselves they did. But a great many are now dead or disabled.

Of course that's not "from" covid, it just happened to occur while they "had covid"...

I've been watching it play out with my coworkers and their families for the last month...

Got mine from the VA about two days after they began offering it which was somewhere around two or three weeks ago.

Republican congresswoman Nancy Mace went on Fox to denounce vaccine, claiming uncited studies show "natural immunity" is preferable. On the same day she went on CNN where she promoted vaccines and masking.

I hear ya but I cant believe they all are. I actually know devout progressive dem's that haven't been vaccinated, just feel they are healthy enough willing to risk.
