reading the thread title I'm amazed that all those dead people can still count....I'd bet some couldn't count when they were alive let alone do simple math!

Most kids have mild to no symptoms, which is why a lot of them are yolo about not getting vaccinated

And hundreds of thousands of those same kids have had family members die of that same disease.

I'm happy to see HCP's daughter isn't one of those. The vaccine and booster may very well have played a part in how their household was impacted by the virus.

Of course, that's just anecdotal evidence, but I can certainly understand his relief.

CDC: 61% of Teenagers Hospitalized for COVID-19 Had Severe Obesity

One of the only silver linings of the pandemic has been that young people are less affected by COVID-19 than the elderly. In fact, the most vital indicator of negative COVID-19 outcomes is age: Unlike the Spanish flu, which ravaged armies that were overwhelmingly comprised of otherwise healthy young people during World War I, COVID-19's death toll is dramatically skewed toward those who have already lived many years. (For context, the average age of death from Spanish flu was 28.)

That said, about 600 Americans under the age of 18 have died of COVID-19 during the pandemic. A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took a closer look at young people who were hospitalized for COVID-19 in July and August, while the delta variant wave took hold, and largely found that healthy young people continue to mostly evade the worst of COVID-19.

This coming as an Zero surprise. We talked about it here few times, but people can't connect big dots until they see it on TV.
Saying that, it is really hilarious to see anti... passporters(?) protesting in burger king.
People are soooo divided at this point. I don't have vaccine, but I don't want to be connected to those people.
On the other hand I have no sympathy for people that are giving their freedom like it was worth nothing at all. How can't they see they are more and more in shit is beyond me.

We now have all kinds of pollution on Earth now. We have air pollution, light pollution, noise pollution and we have information pollution that is growing bigger.
At this point, given all things that happened, one can assume whatever he wants and all can be backed by "facts". It just matter of who's the king.
Watching what's happening you can say that maybe vaccines worked and thank god for them but you can say that maybe they actually keeping this virus going.
If you have covid without symptoms you can say vaccine worked or it didn't work. If I am not vaccinated and have gone thru cov lightly, you can say that vaccine wasn't needed or that maybe I would not have nothing at all if I got vacc.
At this point we are in chaos and nothing at all makes sense any more.
We, as a society, one way or another are being fucked badly right now, that's for sure.
