OT Coronavirus: America in chaos, News and Updates. One million Americans dead and counting (6 Viewers)

Supreme Court loved executive power when a Republican was president. Muslim ban, diverting funds allocated by Congress to wall Mexico was totally going to pay for, all very fine. Protecting American lives, not so much.

So may I assume if ever need surgery, you will tell medical team not to bother with masks because they are useless?

All glibness aside, I've never actually seen anyone rolled into a restaurant for surgery.

I would say, that in a free country, to force people to comply doesn't sound much like freedom. Here in America we seem to be trying to normalize: forcing our views upon others...
Only an American would think this is unique to America. Just the other day Quebec announced a plan to tax the unvaccinated. Australia had put a lockdown in place only for those not fully vaccinated late last year. Greece is fining unvaccinated people over age 60. Germany, Romania and France are increasing restrictions on the unvaccinated. Netherlands is still under a strict nationwide lockdown since mid-December. Switzerland only lets the vaccinated or those who have recovered recently to access restaurants and other venues. Austria plans to make vaccination mandatory. The list definitely goes on. "Free" governments around the world are doing things like this, to say nothing of the countries we don't consider "free". They're all trying to figure out the best way to combat a pandemic.

Yes, I saw that heinous act Canada went with. Horrible to tax your own citizens in this way. Just get a gun a shoot the a-hole if you can be so callus.

And, yes, I don't care about the pandemic. This is a horrific way to get your citizens to "comply with the state". If people can't see that, I don't care either. I see things differently.

I'm super deep in the red right now, but I was super green like 4 months ago. It'll swing back, I'm not worried.

I had a stock drop 70% in the last 3 weeks after it did a reverse split. Only lose when you sell. I bought more to average down today.

“You don’t care about the pandemic”
So one could assume you haven’t lost anybody close to you?

In this context, my statement is about "the state", not the pandemic. That is what I mean.

Maybe, this is where people are getting confused about my whole statement. I don't know.

Canada's answer to everything is more Tax. They implemented a GST back in mid 80's which is a tax on tax. I used to get reimbursed this when I covered Western Canada. When you have 1/10th the populations as the US I guess it requires more tax to support their Gov.

Well okay then.

At any rate, here's a scenario that's near and dear to my heart. Lets say you have a loved one who is undergoing cancer treatment and just had brain surgery and who's immune system is severely compromised. Would you be upset or relieved if you knew that all the doctors and nurses taking care of your loved one were required to be vaccinated? Or would you simply relish in the reality of constant outbreaks at the hospital because at least the doctors are free to follow the advice of Joe Rogan, for instance.

Then lets say that person returns to work, still completely immunocompromised, but the office doesn't have a mandate and half the employees aren't vaccinated. He's got no choice to work remotely and can't lose his job. What does that person do now?

To me that's also a horrific way to treat those most vulnerable. I don't like mandates at all, but I think the slight inconvenience of people getting a readily and freely available vaccine, vs. people losing their lives who wouldn't otherwise, is an imperfect but obvious decision. And if you can't see that then I likewise don't care.

Right on. Ya, my personal death total just reached 7 and I’m fucking sick of people posting on here straight bullshit!

I couldn't care less if you don't believe my posts. But, if you don't like my posts, put me on ignore. Simple and easy solution. :fishing:

Right, because if we just put everybody on ignore and not resist the push for no mandates or restrictions then this whole pandemic would be much easier to deal with.

Of course the death counts would likely be much higher, but who cares about that when we can spread conspiracy theories!

People should be upset that our very own government is helping this pandemic to continue on by protecting corporate profits. But, I can't control other peoples outrage I guess.

You're spot on here. Our "response" as the wealthiest country in the world has been a joke.

sucks. Its fun though. Youre turning me into an addict. If i can get my wife on board, i think id rather toss a few grand out there every once in a while than head to vegas. Better odds and i get to play longer. Granted its slug slow play. Lol.
