My point is just that computer simulations take raw inputs and whatever variables and stuff that humans give them. Doesn't matter if I'm designing a simulator, a neural network, AI, etc there is a grain of salt to be taken to all of it. I absolutely understand how the math works and I am no way saying to not take it seriously.I'm not suggesting I should be put in charge of the response due to using those simulators. It just gives some perspective about how these things work. It doesn't make someone an expert.
For a few days? Try weeks. Trump is getting overwhelmed.Whispers are that we will shut the country down for a few days next week

lol.Simulated studies show 73% of Americans have a very poor understanding of math.
And the other 2/3s do not care.

You are certainly not wrong, that possibility definitely exists.
What the probability is, no one knows for sure. But it's non-zero.

Agreed...it's definitely a possibility...actually, what I meant to say or should have said is that "I hope the future proves me wrong".
Many eyes are watching China. Good hygiene and social distancing efforts should certainly help...

What China does or does not do won't matter much if us and the rest of the world does not take the recommended measures ourselves.
Right now, I couldn't give two shits about what's going on in China.
You can bet that we are keeping our eyes on every nation....as they are us. The is a global phenomenon and everyone is learning from everyone else in one way or another.
Now with Oregon shutting down medical clinics, dental, and many other medical procedures in hospitals unless deemed non-urgent, this is really going to slow down the economy. Hopefully this puts an end to it as more states are going this route even though not that many people have symptoms serious enough to be hospitalized of the 88 current cases per the Govenor's statement.. Of course that is a 'yet'.

The surgeon that tested positive and was in surgery with my fiancee (she is an OR Nurse) was performing elective surgery. Its a good idea to nip this in the bud while we can conceivably get a hold on it.
It's that but also that they need all the PPE they can get for treating patients with C19.
They are transferring other specialities to the ER. Also I hear they may request retired docs to come out of practice.
She's stuck in Georgia now. Thanks and the same to yours.
I have a feeling we aren't the first and certainly not the last. I don't wish it at all, but I think before this is all done, everyone one of us here will have had a direct impact from it, either from a family member or ourselves.
The thing is, I was about to grab her out of the place last weekend just to avoid this. I know that may not have been the best thing, but now I can help but thinking of how she is locked in a building with the virus. Hard not to think its not gonna spread in the building.
I know @bodyman5000 and 1 is in a similar situation with his mother.
He is literally a greasy used car salesman.
dont sell yourself short. Seems like common sense to you and me but its a rare and admirable trait as evidenced by this forum alone.![]()
Bro, just say it's a rare and admirable triat. You dont have to knock the rest of the board like you continually do with so many of your posts. Just thank him without backhanding the rest of the community.
Link? I can't find any evidence he was ever literally a used car salesman, greasy or otherwise.
