@EL PRESIDENTE

I'm not suggesting I should be put in charge of the response due to using those simulators. It just gives some perspective about how these things work. It doesn't make someone an expert.
My point is just that computer simulations take raw inputs and whatever variables and stuff that humans give them. Doesn't matter if I'm designing a simulator, a neural network, AI, etc there is a grain of salt to be taken to all of it. I absolutely understand how the math works and I am no way saying to not take it seriously.

Obviously. I'm actually not sure what point you're even trying to make here. You're just giving the definition of a simulation.

You are certainly not wrong, that possibility definitely exists.
What the probability is, no one knows for sure. But it's non-zero.

Agreed...it's definitely a possibility...actually, what I meant to say or should have said is that "I hope the future proves me wrong".

What China does or does not do won't matter much if us and the rest of the world does not take the recommended measures ourselves.

Right now, I couldn't give two shits about what's going on in China.

You can bet that we are keeping our eyes on every nation....as they are us. The is a globally unique phenomenon and everyone is learning from everyone else in one way or another.

President Xi Jinping and Trump are tight so of course we are.

Now with Oregon shutting down medical clinics, dental, and many other medical procedures in hospitals unless deemed non-urgent, this is really going to slow down the economy. Hopefully this puts an end to it as more states are going this route even though not that many people have symptoms serious enough to be hospitalized of the 88 current cases per the Govenor's statement.. Of course that is a 'yet'.

The surgeon that tested positive and was in surgery with my fiancee (she is an OR Nurse) was performing elective surgery. Its a good idea to nip this in the bud while we can conceivably get a hold on it.

This won't end until we know where the virus is. That will take widespread testing.

Covocalypse 2020!

It's that but also that they need all the PPE they can get for treating patients with C19.

BREAKING NEWS: Illinois announces stay at home order, following New York and California, putting 70 MILLION Americans under lockdown as the states take matters into their own hands after Trump refused a national coronavirus quarantine
  • There are now more than 17,000 cases of coronavirus in the US and 240 people have died
  • The worst affected city by far is New York, where there are more than 4,000 cases and 26 have died
  • New York state will close all non-essential businesses on Sunday and California has gone into lockdown
  • Only grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, transport, news media and others are allowed to still operate
  • Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced a stay at home order on Friday afternoon that will last until April 7
  • President Trump will not issue a national quarantine because some states aren't as badly affected as others
  • He yelled at a journalist who asked him what he had to tell Americans who are afraid on Friday

They are transferring other specialities to the ER. Also I hear they may request retired docs to come out of practice.

I think supplies and equipment will be more vital than the number of available workers.

Thanks and the same to yours.

I have a feeling we aren't the first and certainly not the last. I don't wish it at all, but I think before this is all done, everyone one of us here will have had a direct impact from it, either from a family member or ourselves.

The thing is, I was about to grab her out of the place last weekend just to avoid this. I know that may not have been the best thing, but now I can help but thinking of how she is locked in a building with the virus. Hard not to think its not gonna spread in the building.

I know @bodyman5000 and 1 is in a similar situation with his mother.
She's stuck in Georgia now.

Nancy Pelosi currently BLOCKING emergency aid payments to American citizens. Have no fear though, Chuck Schumer wants to offer “low interest” loans. LOL.

He is literally a greasy used car salesman.

Link? I can't find any evidence he was ever literally a used car salesman, greasy or otherwise.

dont sell yourself short. Seems like common sense to you and me but its a rare and admirable trait as evidenced by this forum alone. :)

Bro, just say it's a rare and admirable triat. You dont have to knock the rest of the board like you continually do with so many of your posts. Just thank him without backhanding the rest of the community.

Really? Do you admit when you are wrong? If so, dont worry about it. If not, then maybe there is a bigger picture here?

I think Ill say it like it is whether you like it or not. Sorry if the truth hurts. Not trying to piss you off, but if you think i'm gonna embellish crap for peoples feelings, you don't know me.

The FACT is, very few people here ever admit to being wrong. I am not one of those and I find it a quality trait when someone can admit to being wrong. I don't continually knock the board for this either, so I think you are embelishing. I've mentioned it a few times over what... the last year? If its more then please quote me or back off?

Speaking of politicians, Andrew Cuomo is doing everything right that Trump is doing wrong, as far as crisis management/leadership. The difference in their daily briefings is vast.
