My mom is quarantined in Texas right now. She was on the cruise ship that is in Oakland.

I read that they suspect somone else but I won't be surprised if my mom brought it on the ship. She and her new husband were sick just before the cruise. She lives in Washington....SW Washington not Seattle area though.


I'm going to live my life like normal. I always washed my hands and when I was sick if I was at work I told people to stay away.

The worst thing about this is being contagious without having symptoms. We will NEVER be able to quarantine that away unless the world stands still for a month and that ain't happening.

If a skeleton crew can keep the electricity and water on I'll stay home for a month no problem. Who's with me?

I cant convince my parents to stay in, they simply think its all stupid, and if they get it and die oh well. Its weird cause they’re both intelligent adults most of the time, college educated, run businesses, but this thing their ego’s seem to be too big to say ok were a high risk demographic lets chill for a bit.

I was sort of like that, but in the last 24 hours or so the wife and I are trying to cut back on getting out and where we go. We both stopped this morning going to the gym for extra precaution and we will see wher things are in a couple weeks.

This was just shared with me by my son. At his work last night (mfg facililty) an employee left a line feeling ill and while in the parking lot called 911 as he was dizzy.
The paramedics and FD showed up and they were in all white safety suits.
One of the paramedics told my son that the plant should shut down immediately and everyone inside should go self quarantine.
The paramedic also conveyed the man wouldn't likely be tested just checked over and released, from hospital.
The temp agency called my son's GM and said the guy forgot his blood pressure meds and didn't have a fever, and was released.

They may do more than that in all this panic. It is not going to take much to incite people or for people to snap in the midst of this. The last thing our country needs is more guns.

If things get bad, mass panic will sweep the nation. People will become animals. They will loot, assault, and kill. They think they can act without consequence. Look what happened during the Rodney King riots. Korean store owners got guns and used them against rioters because the police abandoned them.

I absolutely support the use of lethal force to protect yourself in the worst case scenario.

I do not trust the government or the police to protect the public. Look what happens when there is a protest. This will be much worse.

It will be a situation of kill or be killed.
