Here's what's happening here in Bellingham, population 80,000. 48 confirmed cases as of a day ago, Sunday, going up every day. 2 deaths, one Thursday and one Friday.

Meanwhile, I ventured out from under my rock to Costco yesterday. In many months this town has Costco's biggest store in sales (but not floor space, that's in Salt Lake City). It's usually shoulder-to shoulder dodging carts, but with Canadians not allowed over the border, there was plenty of elbow room. The air felt dead though, and I was eager to get outside and breathe some fresh rain.

As someone who has worked with manufacturers big and small, with robotics and AI. Its pretty unreasonable to think they can do a massive change over, retooling, reprogramming, on lines that are mostly meant to be static (doing the same process over and over) in a short amount of time. So, while he definitely shot off his mouth prematurely, many manufacturers will move over it’ll just take time.

this is just irresponsible reporting. china took drastic measures to control their spread and numbers, including welding doors of houses shut when they knew people in it tested positive, or forcibly removing people from families after positive tests. they literally closed every entry way to a whole city for months. that sort of control is not happening here. this nobel laureate doesn't even mention that. idiot.
 
also, we will have more cases than China in about 4 days, max. our rate of growth is on pace with Italy/Spain, not China. And we need to look at cases/capita, not total number of cases when comparing numbers between countries. who is this dumbass reporter?

I know, it was just a flip remark. Most of Oregon's border is just an imaginary line from Ontario south to the corner, then 300 miles west to the Pacific. That's a long wall to build
