Less population density even in cities (LA sprawls, NY stacks), Californians being addicted to cars. Bad generally but fewer people on crowded transit. Bay Area was first to lock down, followed by entire state, several days before New York. San Francisco had closed performances and gatherings even earlier. So we had a head start on social distancing.Doesn't translate into why NY/NJ have been hit so hard while California, which had many more flights, has so much fewer cases/deaths.

I closed the the thread. I should have closed it before it began. I admit I had a part in getting it rolling. I shouldn't have. I was bored and had too much time on my hands. We all did.
We all got a chance to get our thoughts and opinions across. I didn't close it to get the last say, or because I thought one side was winning or losing or to be vindictive, or any of that. I closed it one, because it was becoming a shit show, a I know you are but what am I pissing contest.
Secondly, and most importantly I realized how it was becoming an obession for many of us. I hoped in locking it, we could go on to other more important things, like spending time with family as I did. With everything that is going on, do we really need to be going at each others throats.
really sorry to hear this-- hope they recover soon.Dad tested positive, 73, always had high BP. He seems stable-ish thought.
Mom has worse symptoms but hasnt been tested yet.
Really hope they will be ok

Pretty sure this has been discussed, but NY has approached nearly 50% of all US deaths.

This is part of the confusing part of all those flights from China...LA and San Fran had many more incoming flights than NY but have a fraction of the number of cases/deaths.
Always watching!Whispers....shhh, don't tell anyone.
Always watching!
Well... I have PM's and convo's with a lot of people on here, both those I agree with politically and those I don't. There are people I've met on this site I would consider good friends too, but I don't think were sharing s2 dirty secrets with each other.Yeah, I just find the whole concept of the secret thing completely contrary to the idea/concept of a "open forum".

I am sorry for behaving like an ass towards you last night.
Overall, I enjoy many of your posts.
Have a wonderful day, partner.
I hope your son is alright. My son that’s an electrician at Kaiser is being tested this morning. He started getting symptoms yesterday and had a zoom mtg with doc. Getting his test at his doctors clinic where someone comes out in the parking lot and does it.
Hopefully he test negative.

Politics are very tribal in nature anyways so people who find some common ground are typically going to flock together.
I do miss when most of our conversations were fighting over Stotts and Neil Olshey..
Edit: For the record I don't know who was flagging posts at all. I'm apparently not that kind of moderator.
He struggles with asthma. But he’s in very good shape otherwise. Even if he’s positive he will beat it!I hope your son is alright.
How did you get this info? Care to quote the thread it was in?Wasn't pointing to you, but it has been relayed to me that there are people who instead of posting in the forum, do it secretly with PMs.
I know I didn't take it personally. Though I converse with people in PM's too, most of you probably don't want to know how my kids are doing or how ForumUserBob's mom is having a crappy week because ForumUserBob isn't a good son. lol.Wasn't pointing to you, but it has been relayed to me that there are people who instead of posting in the forum, do it secretly with PMs.

Hope so, that's tough. He struggles with asthma. But he’s in very good shape otherwise. Even if he’s positive he will beat it!

How about an apology to the thread starter that you touted as an "ass thread". Not very cool.
